𝐂𝐓𝐄 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲, 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦

In a significant stride towards promoting inclusive education, the College of Teacher Education (CTE) at Cagayan State University Lal-lo conducted their annual Literacy and Numeracy Extension Program at San Mariano, Lal-lo, December 20.

With the theme, “Adopt a Community, Each One Teach One,” the extension program aims to provide Indigenous People (IP) the essential skills to address the literacy and numeracy needs within Indigenous communities.

The college have been conducting this program for three years now with the mission to provide a positive impact not just in the campus but to the wider community as well.

According to Christian Nicol Agcaoili, CTE governor, their goal is to give hope to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) by giving them opportunity to learn how to count, read, and write.

"Lahat tayo ay karapatan nating matuto kaya laking tulong itong extension [program] para sa kanila para maging maparaan at magaling sa lahat ng bagay na kahit IP sila ay hindi sila nagpag-iiwanan," he said.

Meanwhile, Agcaoili also expressed his gratitude to all the people behind the success of the extension program.

"We are very grateful din sa support ni Ma'am Mary Jane [CTESC Adviser] sa amin dahil kung hindi niya kami ginuide ay hindi namin magagawa ang lahat ng ito and ganun na rin sa lahat ng faculty ng CTED sa pangunguna ng ating hardworking at supportive na Dekana na si Ma'am Gemma," he stated.

The said extension was initiated by Mrs. Mylene Urbi, college extension coordinator, in collaboration with the College Student Council and was attended by various college student organization and faculty and staff of the College of Teacher Education.

| Highlighting various festivals in the Philippines, the Titans, expressed boundless enthusiasm in a symphony of cheers and yells, creating an electrifying atmosphere filled with unbridled campus spirit and unity. The participants, with their raw energy, also performed in the different socio-cultural activities such as vocal solo, vocal duet, pop solo, hip-hop and contemporary dance, and short and sweet play. They also showcased their wit and prowess in academic tilts particularly in quiz bowl, essay writing, extemporaneous speaking, story telling, pagkukwento, pagsusulat ng sanaysay, and dagliang talumpati.

Ironic as it is, but the team of the king of the gods, Zeus, still reigns supreme, followed by the team of the god of the underworld, Hades, as the first runner-up, the team of Zeus's son, Apollo, as the second runner-up, and the team of the god of Sea, Poseidon, as the third runner-up.

The three siblings, now with Zeus' son, are still competing each other until these college days. What a family affair! 😅
