Since network marketing is a business…and business is selling…and you are in network marketing, then you are in sales!
If network marketing is selling, bakit sinasabi ng ibang mga networkers na...
“Hindi ito benta-benta. It’s simply SHARING.”
There are two reasons:
1. Ayaw nilang iwasan sila ng mga prospects nila dahil most people really don’t like selling.
2. They don’t know any better. Yan kasi ang natutunan nila sa upline/training nila.
If you joined network marketing, and thinking na hindi mo kailangang magbenta, then you won’t realize that you need proper sales training.
As a result, network marketers simply make a list of 100 names or so and just “share” the products and the opportunity to people on that list.
Without proper sales training, most network marketers ay maeexperience na sangkatutak na rejection by friends and family.
People rarely last in the networking business for more than 6 months; ung iba pa nga nag-quit na within days! Nagtataka sila, why it didn’t work out for them…
It’s because they didn’t learn how to sell!
"Word-of-mouth advertising lang naman ito eh"
Most networkers would say, “Kwento-kwento lang ang networking like word-of-mouth advertising.”
Palaging example yung nag-recommend ng palabas sa sinehan or restaurant sa isang kaibigan, they will likely see the movie or eat at that restaurant, because as a friend, they trust your opinion.
Pero when you start “sharing” your products and opportunity, everything changes from personal recommendation to selling, because this time, your recommendation may lead to a sale, and both you and your friend know that you are going to make a commission out of it.
Unlike recommending a movie or restaurant, meron kang F.O.R.M. (family, occupation, recreation, message) strategy, meron ka ring “smart” lines, you have opening and closing scripts, etc. To your friend, you don’t sound the same as when you recommended that movie or restaurant. And honestly, you know it doesn’t feel as natural recommending your networking business as it is recommending a good movie.
Yes, I know naman na we mabuti ang intensyon natin in recommending our products or opportunity but we have to do it with the proper approach. Huwag mag-assume that they’ll buy simply because they’re our friends or family.
Minsan pa nga, I had the experience of being told by one of my close friend:
“Pagusapan na natin lahat pwera ‘yang networking mo!"
Ouch! Napakasakit ma-reject ng taong inaakala mong susuporta sayo. Nangyare na ba sayo to?
I genuinely wanted to help my friend so I was just “sharing” my opportunity. Ang hindi ko na-realize was that I was coming across to her as a salesperson.
Put this in mind:
If you are in network marketing, you need to learn effective sales skills!
Kapag di ka natuto na mga effective sales and marketing skills, baka pati ikaw mag-quit! Walang masama sa pagbebenta, but the tactics used by traditional salespeople gaya ng mga insurance agents and network marketers ang nakaka-turn-off sa mga tao. Ika nga,...
"It's not what you sell, it's HOW you sell."
Here is a story…
Someone went to a friend’s house para mag present ng business opportunity. The speaker was so excited about the business opportunity, pinakita ang mga checke, company profile, at yung marketing plan dun sa friend nia.
However, his friend did not see the value in it kasi hindi naman nia kailangan ng another source of income that time and was trying to recover from a health condition.
A few days later, another person from the same company went to his house, but this time the speaker presented the products. The friend became interested because he’s been on medication and was trying to find a solution to his health problem. He listened to the presentation and later bought the whole pack of products that the first presenter was trying to sell him. He tried the products and was convinced of its effectiveness that he eventually did the business himself and became one of the networking superstars in that company.
Do you have a similar story? Are you guilty of this?
Maraming networkers ang nagfofocus masyado sa company, products, and the marketing plan and pay very little attention sa kung ano ang iniisip ng prospect.
Most network marketers keep on comparing company stability, how long they’ve been in business, product content, pricing, membership fees, compensation plans, etc. – it’s IRRELEVANT!
It’s like saying to your prospect, “Here are my reasons why you should to buy from me,” samantalang ang iniisip ng prospect is,
"What's in in for me? Anong mapapala ko jan?"
Pwede mo nang ‘i-share’ yung products and opportunity mo... but only AFTER you’ve identified your prospect’s TRUE NEEDS.
Hindi mo pa siguro alam ito, but you are NOT actually selling your company’s products or business opportunity. Alam mo ba kung anong binebenta mo?
You are selling YOU.
In network marketing, people don’t join companies or businesses. People join people.
We ARE in the people business! STOP pushing your products and opportunity and START listening to your prospects and alamin mo ang kanilang mga NEEDS, for them to want to buy from you.
Understand the selling process and find out what REALLY motivates them.
People buy for their own reason, not yours.
Find out what their goals, their desires, fears, interests, and expectations are. Address their needs, fears, and wants and THEN they will buy into YOU.
"No one buys a product without a reason. What is bought is what the customer thinks the product or service will do for him/her."
A good network marketer is one who can RELATE their prospect’s true desires and how their product or opportunity will bring about those desires into reality.
So from now on, try REALLY listening to your prospect, before you bring up your product or opportunity.
I hope you like this lesson. Stay tuned for more posts very very soon... Til next time...
