The College of Public Safety and Community Health (CPSCH) honored its academic achievers and distinguished student-athletes during the Student Recognition Rites held at 1 PM at the PSU Gymnasium.

Academic excellence was highlighted with awardees from the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬. Meanwhile, CPSCH 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭-𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 who excelled in the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) competitions were also recognized, with 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀. 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨 receiving the Outstanding University Athlete of the Year award.

The event celebrated the dedication and achievements of students who have demonstrated academic excellence and athletic prowess, reinforcing CPSCH’s commitment to holistic student development.

As part of the 24th Charter Anniversary celebration, the 𝐏𝐀𝐍 - 𝐏𝐡𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐚 𝐔𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 facilitated a Nutrition and Screening Counseling activity under the leadership of the Public Health and Nutrition Department faculty. The booth served as a platform for providing health and nutrition guidance, with organization officers actively assisting participants in making informed dietary and lifestyle choices. This initiative reflects the continuous commitment to promoting public health awareness and preventive care within the academic community.

𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝟏: The College of Public Safety and Community Health (CPSCH) proudly took part in the opening day of Partido State University’s 24th Charter Anniversary, themed "𝙁𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙑𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩, 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨" To mark the beginning of this week-long celebration, CPSCH students, faculty, and staff participated in a parade, demonstrating unity and commitment to the values that define the institution.

The Federation of Student Councils (FSC) is pleased to announce that Resolution No. III, Series of A/Y 2024-2025, requesting the temporary use of civilian attire for all Partido State University students during the summer season, has been approved.

This measure aims to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students amid the rising heat index while maintaining strict compliance with the university’s dress code policy.

A seminar entitled “𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐈𝐕-𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐒, 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬” was successfully conducted on February 21, 2025, at the 3rd Floor of the Marine Food Science Building, Partido State University – College of Public Safety and Community Health. The event was spearheaded by University 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑪𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒂, who also served as the resource speaker. It was coordinated by the designated Campus Nurse, Mr. Patrick De Vergara, and organized by College Dean, Dr. Shirlene Esplana and OSAS Coordinator, Mr. Clarson, under the supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Michael Clores.

The seminar was divided into two sessions. In the morning, the audience consisted of first- to fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Security Management program. The afternoon session was attended by first- to third-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics programs.
The event commenced with opening remarks delivered by Dr. Shirlene Esplana, while Mr. Julius Sotoya served as the master of ceremony. The seminar featured a comprehensive discussion led by Dr. Cledera, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session with student participants. The program concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Isiash Rojero, after which a photo opportunity was held. The event officially ended at 5:00 p.m.

The seminar emphasized the importance of awareness and preventive health measures among students. Organized through the joint efforts of university officials, health professionals, and academic leaders, the event provided useful information to students of CPSCH. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to health education and its goal of preparing graduates to contribute to the well-being of their communities.

The blatant attempt to discredit 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 by Representative Luis Raymund Villafuerte is more than just an attack on a student publication—it is an assault on press freedom itself. Labeling legitimate reporting as "fake news" is a dangerous tactic used by those who fear accountability, and it has no place in a democratic society.

We, student journalists serve as the voice of the people, holding power to account even when it is inconvenient for those in authority. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 conducted its poll with integrity, and the response it received from Villafuerte exposes a troubling disregard for truth and independent journalism. Silencing the press does not erase the facts; it only reveals the insecurity of those in power.

We stand in unwavering solidarity with 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 and all student journalists who courageously uphold press freedom. An attack on one of us is an attack on all. We will not be silenced. ✊
