Lesson Learned: Wag magpalit ng pangalan kapag walang tulog.

Nagpalit ako ng FB Page name kaninang umaga pagkatapos ko mag out sa trabaho, pero imbis na WFH naging WFM ang nalagay ko. Kailangan pa mag hintay ng 60 days bago mapalitan ulit.

Ngayon iisipin ko anong meaning ng WFM 🫠

Other people usually has lack of understanding on the condition of a child with autism. Sometimes a child with special needs receives discriminating and insulting remarks from insensitive people.

10 THINGS OTHER PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT AUTISM

NEURODIVERSE
(hindi abnormal... its not proper for them to call our ausome kids abnormal just because they are not typical...let them Google neurodiversity, only special needs parents know this)

DELAYED
(hindi re****ed... our little ones are developmentally delayed of social and communication skills)

HAS INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENT
(hindi MONGOLOID... M is a demeaning label, that is already an obsolete medical term, you'll be surprised most of children with autism are actually genius

HAS DIFFERENT ABILITY
instead of 'has disability'

UNIQUE
instead of 'weird'

HAS SENSORY SENSITIVITIES
do not easily judge our ausome angels as "pasaway" maybe they are having sensory overload and deviation from routine kaya they seem uncontrollable sa paningin nyo

HAS DIFFICULTY EXPRESSING EMOTION
hindi "eskandaloso" - our autism child do not intend to call attention specially in public places; his/her screaming or throwing tantrums maybe because he/she is having trouble in telling what he/she want or do not like

HAS SOCIAL ANXIETY
kaya madalas sinasabi ng iba na "may sariling mundo"...we live in the same world but person with autism perceive things differently

hindi "may diperensiya" agad

BRAIN IS WIRED DIFFERENTLY
hindi "may sakit sa pag-iisip"...

I don't expect other people to understand the situation of our special ones but my humble plea as a parent of a child on the spectrum, our ausome kids deserve respect.
