March 16, 2023 | The Local Youth Development Office, together with the SK Federation Office, conducted an LYDC Camp with the theme "ALAB: Enflaming the Passion of Irosanon Young Leaders" , at Pahayahayan, Patag, Irosin, Sorsogon, last April 15-16, 2023.

The said camp was attended by the Local Youth Development Council members, from different youth organizations in Irosin. The Day 1 of the 2-day camp was made productive by the invited esteemed speakers: Dr. Roldan Cabiles, a Professor and Program Adviser of Bicol University Open University who talked about Technical Report Writing; Mr. Jimmy Yau J.D., the TESD Specialist II of TESDA Sorsogon who spearheaded the project proposal writing workshop; and Mr. Neil T. Ozo, the Treasury Operations Officer of the Bureau of Treasury who discussed Financial Literacy. The Day 2 was made enjoyable by the tasks assigned during the team building activities.

This camp was conducted to provide the Local Youth Development Council with the necessary skills that they need not only as a part of the council, but as youth leaders in their respective communities as well. The Local Youth Development Office aspires to burn the passion in them, to make them more empowered and effective leaders in the long run.

March 26, 2023 | 1st LYDC Quarterly Meeting

The Local Youth Development Council held its first Quarterly Meeting today, March 26, 2023, at Mayor's Office Conference Hall.

The said meeting was led by SK Federation President Jem G. Balitaon and Local Youth Development Ofricer John Joseph G. Escote. Together with the members of the council, they discussed the issues faced by their respective youth organizations together with their prospect program this year, the status of the Local Youth Development Plan, and updates on Youth Organization Registration Program.

The council also talked about the consultation to be done to their fellow youth, to give them an avenue to voice out their concerns and incorporate them in the Comprehensive Development Plan of the LGU. Lastly, they planned for their technical training camp this year, with the theme "ALAB: Burning the passion of Irosanon Young Leaders".

❗LOOKING FOR INNOVATIVE YOUTHS❗

With the implementation of the Local Energy Code by the Local Government Unit of Irosin, in respect to the RA 9513 or the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 that mandates the state to accelerate exploration and development of renewable energy resources to achieve energy self-reliance in national and local capabilities, the LGU Irosin, together with the SK Federation Office and Local Youth Development Office, in cooperation with Reboot Philippines, will be conducting a Renewable Energy Orientation and Seminar that will cater innovative youths in the locality.

WHO CAN JOIN?

> Anyone with Science and Technology Background
> A member of any organization making or planning to work on a renewable energy project
> Anyone in the business sector who are into Renewable Energy Venture.
> Anyone who is a renewable energy advocate.

The Local Government Unit of Irosin together with the SK Federation Office, and Local Youth Development Office will be spearheading Irosin Mayor's Cup 2022 in cooperation with SBP Hin-ay Referees Group of Irosin Inc.

In connection with this, we are calling the attention of all the basketball enthusiasts inside and outside the Municipality. Come and join us shoot the ball!

❗❗LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS ❗❗

The status quo has been showing us the aftermath of our disastrous actions towards the environment. The people suffer as the nature absorbs them. Otherwise, as the youth, who are seen as the future of this nation, it is our responsibility to take action specifically in extending measures benevolent to our Mother Nature.

Hence, the Local Youth Development Office, together with the SK Federation Office, and Local Youth Development Council, will be spearheading a YOUth for Earth: Tree Planting and Clean-up Drive Activity to be conducted in Barangay Tongdol, Irosin, Sorsogon, this 29th day of June.

In line with this, we are looking for volunteers who can participate in the said activity and be one of the driving forces to have a better place to live in.

Para sa mga nagtatanong po kung ano na po ang estado ng sports tournament and summer youth activities sa ating munisipyo ay naipasa na po ng ating opisina ang resolution na naglalayong humingi ng pahintulot sa ating mayor na payagan na ang sports tourment at mga piling activities na ginagawa tuwing tag-araw.
