Sounds like a very good law, doesn't it? But behind the name, it is actually a deception. Inside it is the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) which poses a threat to our spiritual and moral values.

We urgently need your help in spreading the word about a deeply concerning piece of legislation that is on the verge of becoming a law in our Senate.

Senate Bill No. 1979, known as the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Act of 2023, is currently on its third reading. While the title may sound well-intentioned, the contents of this bill pose a grave threat to our moral, societal, and spiritual values.

The authors of the bill label it as an “Anti-Teen Pregnancy Bill,” but hidden within is a curriculum called Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). According to the UNESCO technical working guide it is based on a curriculum, which includes:

• Teaching children as young as 4 years old about childhood ma********on.
• Introducing 6-year-olds to the concept of bodily pleasures through the five senses.
• Asserting that by age 9, children have their own sexual rights.

These teachings risk undermining the innocence of our children and the values we hold dear as a community.

t also strips away parental rights, where parents are left helpless without any right to refuse this for their children.

This is not a battle we can fight alone.

We need your voice, your influence, and your willingness to stand with us to raise awareness about the implications of this bill.

Along with faith-based communities and concerned parents, help us share this message and help spread the word.

Have you checked your PWD ID?

Recently, there's a campaign going on against the use of fake PWD and Senior Citizen IDs to obtain discounts from establishments.

Beacuse of this, the DOH recommended that the vendors check against the department's database to check if the ID is indeed valid.

The catch? It is your LGU / Local PDAO who handles the registration in the system and sometimes, your ID may not have been inputted yet.
HOW TO CHECK:
1) Go to https://pwd.doh.gov.ph/tbl_pwd_id_verificationlist.php and input your ID number.
2) Please make sure that the format is correct, including dashes. If your sequential code is less than 7 digits, you need to add 0 before the actual number (See photo below).
3) Click on search.

If your city is doing their job, your ID should appear with some details. If not, they strongly urge you to reach out to your LGU so that they can check and register your ID.

Thankfully, Simmoune's ID is in the registry, so I don't expect anything untoward when we use her card. While waiting for the unified PWD ID card, I wish there would be an interim solution for this - because what can you do if your card is not honored just because the establishment only relies on this site?

As for those who brazenly use fake IDs, you should know that there is a law against this (RA 7277 Section 46) and you will be penalized.
