The highly anticipated GIG- God is Good: Rise Up, organized by the West Crew in collaboration with the Iloilo City Government and co-presented by Ms. Raisa Trenฬas, lit up the West Visayas State University Cultural Center with electrifying street dance performances on August 24.
Dancers from across the region competed in three categories: Inter-District, Inter-School Based, and Crew Overload, showcasing Iloilo's finest dance talent.
In the Inter-District category, Fresh Hoodz claimed the championship title with a dynamic, well-synchronized routine that left both judges and audience in awe. Crept Nusty Crew Iloilo secured the first runner-up spot, impressing with their creativity and energy, while F.TTS Dance Troupe rounded out the top three, dancing their way to the second runner-up position.
IDC Aligmata emerged as the champion in the Inter-School Based category, delivering a powerful performance that highlighted both technical skill and artistic expression. GSU Allstar earned the first runner-up position with a high-energy routine that seamlessly integrated diverse dance elements, showcasing their versatility and creativity. USADA secured the second runner-up spot with an equally energetic performance.
In the highly competitive Crew Overload category, Thy Kingdom reigned supreme, winning the championship title with a captivating routine that combined intricate choreography with seamless teamwork. A-Town claimed the first runner-up position, demonstrating their versatility and passion, while StreetKingz Fam impressed the crowd and judges alike with their moves and stage presence, earning a second runner-up finish.
The event was a celebration of talent, culture, and community spirit, with dancers and supporters from across the region coming together to "Rise Up" and demonstrate the power of streetdance as a form of expression and unity.
