PRO-6 crackdown on illegal gambling yields 358 persons

ILOILO City – Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) monthlong crackdown on illegal gambling resulted in the apprehension of 358 persons and seizure of bet money amounting to P159,000.00. This was the result of 126 police operations region wide that covers from June 1 to 30, 2024.

“These arrests show that our efforts do not only focus on the illegal drugs and wanted persons. All forms of illegal activities are strictly watched and if evidence warrants, those involved will be subjected to law enforcement operations,” said Brigadier General Jack L W***y.

Of the number of arrests, below are the contributions of the different units:

• Aklan Police Provincial Office (PPO) able to arrest 14 persons;
• Antique PPO with 14;
• Capiz PPO – 13;
• Guimaras PPO – 6;
• Iloilo PPO – 25;
• Iloilo City Police Office – 7;
• Negros Occidental PPO – 230; and
• Baacolod City Police Office with 49 arrests.

Of the number of arrests, Negros Occidental logged with highest number of apprehensions with 230 or 64.24 percent of the total arrests. This is followed by Bacolod City Police Office with 49 and Iloilo PPO with 25.

Western Visayas Rank 8 and 9 Most Wanted Nabbed

ILOILO City—Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) campaign against wanted persons yielded the region’s rank 8th and 9th most wanted persons (MWP) in a separate police operations.

The region’s rank 9 MWP was nabbed by operatives of Iloilo City Police Station 7 at Barangay Dungon B, Jaro, Iloilo City around 5:00 PM, July 10, 2024. The subject was alias Bryant, a security guard and facing a crime of r**e.

Meanwhile, today, July 11, 2024 around 10:25 AM, elements of Panit-an Municipal Police Station of Capiz Police Provincial Office arrested alias Ronnie, 43, farmer, tagged as rank 8 regional MWP at Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Panitan, Capiz.

The accused is facing charges for three counts of qualified r**e.

No bail recommended for his temporary liberty.

PRO-6 top cop, Brigadier General Jack L W***y, congratulated the operating units for their accomplishment and patience of locating these fugitives.

“Your dedication and commitment dissecting and analyzing every information that led to the arrests of these wanted are commendable. Maintain your vigor in our campaign of bringing justice to the victims of these law violators,” he added.

On July 10, 2024, PRO-6 accounted 27 wanted persons region wide. Of this number, 4 were tagged as MWPs and 23 are other wanted persons.

Accused are now under police custody and will be turnover to court concerned.

Western Visayas Police Chief: Maximize Police Presence in Streets
ILOILO City - The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) ordered the intensification of patrol operations region wide, following the order of Police General Rommel Francisco D Marbil, Chief, Philippine National Police. The directive was given by PRO-6 chief, Brigadier General Jack L W***y to all Provincial and City Directors, down to the Chiefs of Police of Component Cities and Municipalities of Western Visayas.
The patrol operations will include foot and mobile patrols, Oplan Sita, and Oplan Galugad to ensure immediate response during any call for police assistance and to enhance police visibility across the region.
Moreover, Brigadier General W***y reminded all unit commanders to ensure that their personnel are properly briefed before they will be dispatched and closely monitor and supervise their deployments.
"We want our police to be seen in the streets and in different strategic areas, felt by the people and ready to respond to any call for assistance, anytime. Also, their presence will prevent the would-be criminals from committing a crime," he added.

PRO-6 nabbed 358 persons, yielded 2,112 assorted fi****ms in first six months of 2024

ILOILO City - Police Regional Office 6's (PRO-6) relentless efforts toward a gun-free community enabled the seizure of 2,112 assorted fi****ms, 316 explosives and arrest of 358 persons in the first six months of 2024.

From the numbers of seized fi****ms, 414 were confiscated through iron hand, while 1,698 through soft hand approach. The latter includes the deposited, abandoned and the surrendered fi****ms.

Below are the contributions of different police units in terms of fi****ms confiscation:
• Aklan Police Provincial Office (AkPPO) with 205 assorted fi****ms confiscated;
• Antique Police Provincial Office (AntPPO) – 259;
• Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) – 208;
• Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) – 32;
• Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) – 367;
• Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) – 60;
• Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) – 653;
• Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – 92; and
• Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6) with 236.

On the number of arrests, the following are their contribution:
• AkPPO with 15 arrests;
• AntPPO – 24;
• CPPO – 51;
• GPPO – 9;
• IPPO – 84
• ICPO – 19;
• NOCPPO – 125;
• BCPO – 26; and
• RMFB6 with 5 arrests.

Meanwhile, of the 316 explosives recovered, 100 were confiscated through iron hand and 216 through soft hand approach with NOCPPO having the highest number with 118, IPPO - 60, AntPPO - 49, AkPPO – 40, CPPO - 28, BCPO - 11, ICPO – 5, RMFB 6 – 4 and GPPO with 1.

PRO-6 implemented the initiative ‘Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang (TKAL) effectively, an inventiveness aimed at revitalizing the campaign against criminality, specifically targeting the proliferation of loose fi****ms.

This endeavor employs both the soft-hand approach, known as ‘Tokhang Panagbalay’, and the iron-hand approach, which involves strict law enforcement through focused-police operations.

Western Visayas top cop, Brigadier General Jack L W***y, lauded the efforts of the different police units across the region to account these loose fi****ms, explosives and the corresponding arrests made.

“Your individual contributions in commendable. These will prevent the occurrence of crimes using fi****ms. Despite this feat, I urge you to continue to account for the remaining loose fi****ms in the region.”

“Sa mga kababayan po natin na may hawak na hindi lisensyadong baril, maari pong i surrender or deposit niyo ho ito sa pinaka malapit ng himpilan ng Pulisya,” PBGen W***y added.

Western Visayas Cops Nabbed 3,004 Wanted Persons in the first Semester of 2024

ILOILO CITY - In its relentless efforts to arrest wanted individuals and hold them accountable for the crimes they committed, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), accounted 3, 004 wanted persons across the region on its first six months of 2024.

This was the result of 2,387 police operations initiated by the different units.

Of the number, 512 were tagged as most wanted persons (MWP), while 2,492 were classified as other wanted persons (OWP).

On the arrest of MWP, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has the highest number of arrest with 139, followed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) with 138; Capiz PPO with 49; Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) with 48; Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – 45; Antique PPO – 44; Aklan PPO - 28, Guimaras PPO – 11; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG-RFU6) with 9, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6) with 1 arrest.

Meanwhile, on OWP, Negros Occidental PPO has the highest number of arrests with 1,153; Iloilo PPO with 462; BCPO – 191, ICPO with 177; Antique PPO – 165, Aklan PPO – 131, Capiz PPO with 123, Guimaras PPO – 62, RMFB6 with 15 and CIDG-RFU6 with 13.

PRO-6 Regional Director, PBGen Jack L W***y, recognized all the operatives and unit commanders across the region for their persistent endeavor and commitment demonstrated in the campaign against wanted persons.

PRO-6 Arrests 2,368 Persons for Illegal Gambling in the first semester of the year

ILOILO City –The Police Regional Office 6's (PRO-6) crack down on illegal gambling resulted in the apprehension of 2,368 persons and seizure of bet money amounting to P979,000.00 in the first six months of the year. This was the result of 740 police operations conducted region wide that covers from January to June, 2024.

On the number of arrests, below are the contributions of the different units:

• Aklan Police Provincial Office (PPO) able to arrest 63 persons;
• Antique PPO with 126;
• Capiz PPO – 66;
• Guimaras PPO – 30;
• Iloilo PPO – 150;
• Iloilo City Police Office – 190;
• Negros Occidental PPO – 1,430; and
• Bacolod City Police Office with 313 arrests.

Of these arrests, Negros Occidental logged the highest number of apprehensions with 1,430 or 60.38 percent of the total arrests.

Western Visayas Police Chief, Brigadier General Jack L W***y, applauded the accomplishments of all unit commanders across the region.

“These numbers are the product of your hard work together with your personnel. Let’s maintain the energy we have in our campaign against all forms of illegal activities. We’ll not stop enforcing laws against any violators,” he added.

PhP 557,600.00 worth of shabu nabbed, two drug suspects collared in an Iloilo City drug sting
ILOILO CITY – More or less 82 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price of PhP 557,600.00 and a Street Value of PhP 1,640, 000.00 were seized from two drug suspects in a drug bust operation in Iloilo City.
Elements of Iloilo City Police Station 1 (ICPS1), together with the Iloilo City Police Office-Special Tactics and Weapons Team (ICPO SWAT), arrested two drug suspects identified as Alias "Nonoy," a 48-year-old re-arrested Tokhang surrenderee, a driver, and tagged as High-Value Individual, and Alias "Beverly," 30 years old, jobless, and tagged as Street Level Individual, during the conduct of the buy-bust operation at Brgy. Muelle Loney, City Proper, Iloilo City, at 9:45 in the evening of April 1, 2024.
Recovered from the suspects are the following: a.) one (1) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu (buy-bust item); b.) eighteen (18) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (possession); c.) buy-bust money; and d.) Several non-drugs items.
PBGEN Jack L W***y, PRO6 top cop, lauded the accomplishment of Iloilo City Police Station 1 for the confiscation. “With our proper coordination and dedication, those druggies will be behind bars in no time. Let us continue to be vigilant and cooperative, police force, community, and other law enforcement agencies for a safer and brighter future for Western Visayas,” he said.
