𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐲𝐮𝐡𝐮𝐦 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐑𝐄 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐭

Pagyuhum Publication, the official student publication of the West Visayas State University College of Dentistry, marked a pivotal feat in its first appearance at the 49th College Press Conference & Awards (COPRE) organized by the Philippine Information Agency Region VI, held on Nov. 27, 2025 at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City.

The publication’s Volume II, Issue No. 2, its inaugural entry to the competition, placed 3rd in Best Feature Page and 4th in Best Newspaper Layout, marking a strong debut for the newly revived tabloid. The award-winning issue will be uploaded digitally soon.

Pagyuhum did not field contestants for the On-the-Spot Individual Writing Contests and Mr. & Ms. COPRE 2025 but received certificates in recognition of its winning entries.

𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗘-𝗧𝗢-𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬, 𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

In light of the approaching Typhoon Verbena and to ensure the safety of its community, West Visayas State University suspends all face-to-face classes and work operations today, Monday, November 24, 2025, starting at 3 p.m.

A skeleton workforce will remain at the WVSU Medical Center to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of frontline health services.

The General Services Office and Security Office are instructed to continue deployment of essential personnel for property and infrastructure safeguarding.

All synchronous and asynchronous classes are likewise suspended.

Satellite campuses are instructed to follow the directives of their respective local government units.

We ask everyone to stay safe and updated through official WVSU channels and government advisories.

Suspendido ang face-to-face classes bukas, Nobyembre 3, sa lahat ng baitang sa West Visayas State University Main at mga Satellite Kampus, buhat ng posibleng malakas na pag-ulan, pagbaha, at panganib sa pagpasok ng Bagyong Tino, ayon sa forecast ng DOST-PAGASA.

Para sa College of Dentistry, suspendido ang F2F classes sa mga mababang antas na walang Related Learning Experience (RLE) at clinical na duty. Samantala, liban sa suspensiyon ang mga mataas na baitang na may RLE at clinics.

In view of the DOST-PAGASA forecast on the arrival of Typhoon Tino and the potential risks of heavy rains, flooding, and unsafe travel in Western Visayas, face-to-face classes in West Visayas State University and all its satellite campuses are suspended on November 3, 2025, until further notice.

Learning will continue through mediated modalities (synchronous or asynchronous), and faculty members are reminded to submit their Work Accomplishment and Attendance (WAA) reports.

The College of Medicine will proceed with online or mediated learning blocks. Other medical programs will continue their Related Learning Experience (RLE) and clinical duties under faculty supervision, while lower-year students of COD and CON without RLE or clinicals will shift to mediated instruction.

University operations and services, including those at the WVSU Medical Center, will remain open and continue as usual.

Everyone is advised to stay updated through official university channels and to take necessary safety precautions.
