AKSYON RADYO ILOILO, DYOK 720 kHz is an AM station owned and operated by Manila Broadcasting Company. Its studio is located at 3rd Floor Carlos Uy Bldg., Benigno Aquino Avenue, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Engr. Sonny Mondejar acted as Station Manager when it was established as OK 720 RADYO BALITA on September 16, 1991. AKSYON RADYO ILOILO was officially launched as “AKSYON RADYO” in December 1999.

Seasoned broadcast journalist John Paul B. Tia is now at the helm. With his determination, leadership and all out support of 35 strong men and women of the station, AKSYON RADYO ILOILO proves its mettle in the industry by its balanced programming that caters to the A,B,C,D, and E crowds.

AKSYON RADYO ILOILO also boasts of the most respected radio newscasters, reporters, and anchormen in broadcast industry. The most responsible and responsive public affairs programs and best entertainment programs are aired from 3:45 in the morning until 12:00 midnight.

Operating under NTC licensed no. DSD 1074-91, AKSYON RADYO ILOILO uses a power capacity of 10,000 watts, Broadcast Electronics transmitter and other state-of-the-art digital equipment. The station covers Metro Iloilo, Panay, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, part of Cebu, Palawan, Masbate, Romblon and Negros Oriental.

One of the utmost concerns of AKSYON RADYO ILOILO is serving the community through its news programs, beat and field reports, culture and arts, comedy, festivals, advocacy plugs, and public service.

True to its commitment to serve and enhance peoples’ awareness, AKSYON RADYO ILOILO spearheaded various activities for local and national development.

These noble endeavors include the most respected and the fastest coverage of the local and national elections; the Department of Tourism-endorsed Guimaras-Iloilo Cross Channel Swim, “Kayaba Festival;” “Mountain Bike Challenge,” “Operation Bulig” for Guimaras Oil Spill and Igbaras tragedies, and the “Krusada Kontra Krimen.”

AKSYON RADYO ILOILO’s manifestation of strength and reliability was gauged when it bagged various awards including the “Best AM Provincial Station” in the Manila Broadcasting Company convention in 2008.

The station’s flagship newscast, Aksyon Balita Numero Uno, was awarded, thrice, as Best Newscast-provincial by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas.

News Director, May Ortega, was awarded Best Newscaster. One of the station’s anchormen, Joel Tormon, was a finalist for Best Public Affairs program Host and senior reporter Aksyon Johnny Diaz was finalist for Best Field Reporter. The station was also a finalist for Best AM Station in the 20th and 21st KBP Golden Dove awards, respectively.

In 2016, Aksyon Radyo Iloilo triumphed as the Best Provincial AM Station in the 24th KBP Golden Dove Awards.
