ARVIN JOHN GESTOSO, who started exploring styles and strokes of the handwritten craft at an early age, was drawn to the underrated art of calligraphy. Although he was introduced to calligraphy when he was already working at Mayad Studios, his beautiful and distinct handwriting has been noticed early on. He relayed that aside from assisting his mother - a teacher - in creating visual aids, he would also write texts on the board for his classmates to copy. Now, he considers calligraphy as a creative respite, where he embraces a sense of freedom whenever he lets go of himself in the graceful yet strong slants and stems of words he pens on paper. From random quotes, Bible verses, and song lyrics - name it, he can stylishly scribble it. He admitted that though he’s not active with his craft these past months, the motivation to create something beautiful for others is always there. And this is evident in his work as the current General Manager and Creative Director of Humán, the creative media division of Mayad Post Production House Inc. Since he started working at Mayad Studios in 2014 and eventually at MPost in 2020, he was able to expand his skills and experiences in video production, graphic design, and creative direction - almost similar to how he maximized his cursive creations in special spaces. VICTOR PAULO TUPAS, a big fan of wargaming and tabletop games since his younger years, got into miniature wargaming models as a good way to bounce back from the first pandemic year 2020. His interest, which kicked off with collecting and painting, evolved into a partnership with a friend where they started fabricating their own miniatures and entered events such as Animefest 2023 and C3 Fiesta 2023 to showcase their masterpieces. He shared that with the miniature steps of reviving the local tabletop wargaming community comes the goal of providing accessible alternatives to more expensive products - with their skills and the available technologies. His eye for details works well in his career as well. From being an MPost film editor in 2019, he progressed into being a creative and multimedia specialist. Now, as MPost Outsourcing’s production specialist, he goes into the nitty-gritty process of planning, carrying out production activities, and assisting in creating practical yet effective solutions to the creative and even technical challenges of the video outsourcing world - just like imagining and executing the forms and colors of his miniature wargaming models. JOHN ISRAEL STA. LUCIA, a self-confessed competitive person, is actively seeking opportunities to better himself when it comes to his newfound fascination of hiking mountains not only in Iloilo Province but in other parts of the country as well. His desire to trek unfamiliar terrains and reach new heights intensified after exploring Mt. Napulak and Mt. Igcoron. Currently, his list involves 10 minor hikes and five major hikes, with Mt. Guiting-guiting and Mt. Talinis as the most recent ones. He also cites Mt. Apo and Mt. Kanlaon as his next target. While his heart currently beats for anything outdoors-y, he spends most of his weekdays and some of his weekends as a media developer for MPost since 2018, where he is known to have mastered the slopes and turns of advanced video editing.
