PAVIA Parish Church, popularly known as Santa Monica Parish Church, is a century-old church built by Spanish Augustinian Fathers led by Fray Policarpio Minayo.

The parish was established sometime in 1862.

As we bid farewell to the memories of 2024, we thank God for the joys we’ve celebrated and the challenges we’ve faced and overcome. Through it all, we’ve gained valuable lessons and found the strength to move forward.

We welcome 2025 with humble and grateful hearts, embracing God’s will as it unfolds in the year ahead. We pray for His provision, endless opportunities, unexpected blessings, good health, genuine happiness, healing, and forgiveness.

Above all, we continue to seek God’s sustenance as we glorify His holy name through our voices. Amare et servire!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the members of SocCom-Sta. Monica Parish, Pavia. Our 9 days of Simbang Gabi and Aguinaldo Masses were smooth and meaningful. This journey would not be possible without everyone's dedication and hard work.

LOOK: 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF DEDICATION OF THE CHURCH AND THE ALTAR OF PARISH OF ST. MONICA, PAVIA, ILOILO

On the memorial of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Parish of St. Monica in Pavia, Iloilo, held a celebratory high mass on December 12, 2024, at 5:00 in the afternoon.

Rev. Msgr. Maurillo P. Silva Jr., PC, former parish priest of St. Monica Parish, presided over the liturgy and the Eucharistic celebration together with some priests in the archdiocese, the lay faithful, the leaders in the parish, and some officials of the town.

In his homily, Msgr. Silva explained how the church plays a vital role in our daily lives by guiding us to live with faith, love, and kindness. He reminded us that our bodies are temples of God, so we must treat them with respect and care. By being part of the church and honoring God within us, we can live more meaningful and purposeful lives.

Rev. Fr. Jose Gerardo Clasico T. Nufable, the parish priest of St. Monica Parish, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and thanksgiving to our dear priests, the lay faithful, religious organizations, especially the lectors, St. Monica children's choir, altar servers, and parish social communitions, and those who have extended their help and support for the dedication of the Church of St. Monica.
