𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄:

Expressing their sentiments for unity, the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) - Christian Family Organizations' "Rally for Peace" is scheduled tomorrow, January 13, leading to the cancellation of classes due to concerns about public safety.

Mayor Jerry Treñas officially declared suspension at all levels in Iloilo City in which schools and universities are advised to shift to modular learning.

“Let us work together to ensure the success of this event and the safety of everyone,” stated Treñas in his post.

The examinations scheduled for tomorrow at the Iloilo Doctors’ College-Basic Education Department (IDC-BED) will be rescheduled, students will be informed of the new dates by their respective subject teachers.

ADDENDUM:

As per the school administrator, college enrolment shall continue and the first day of classes for the colegiate level shall be moved on January 14, 2025 instead. All offices shall remain open tomorrow to render services.

Sinelyuhan ng St. Roberts International College ang kampyeonato sa Game 2 ng 2024 ILOPRISAA Secondary Basketball Boys Finals Best of Three matapos ungusan ang Iloilo Doctors' College - Basic Education Department (IDC-BED) Junior Medics, 67-54, sa Hua Siong College of Iloilo - Ledesco Campus Gymnasium, Sabado, ika-21 ng Disyembre.

Naisalpak ng SRIC ang dalawang puntos sa huling 35 na segundo matapos maagaw ang bola sa IDC mula sa mahinang depensa nito na siyang tumuldok sa laro, 67-54.

"Gin buhos man namon ang amon resistensya, galing kinulang gid kami sa disiplina kag depensa," saad ni Richmund Someros ng IDC-BED Junior Medics.

Nagtala ng limang puntos sa early lead ang SRIC, 5-0, matapos lusutan ang mga depensa ng kabilang koponan; nanatiling lamang naman ang SRIC sa second quarter kung saan pinilit burahin ng Junior Medics ang bisa ng kalamangan ng katunggali ngunit natapos ang laro, 38-24.

Umariba sa ikatlong quarter ang IDC-BED kung saan uminit ang sagupaan ng dalawang koponan matapos magpalitan ng mga puntos, 50-40; ipinagpatuloy naman ng SRIC ang pamamayagpag hanggang sa fourth quarter kung saan tuluyang nalusaw ang pag-asang makabangon pa ang Junior Medics, 67-54.

"Indi man madali perdihon ang St. Roberts tungod sa ila standing kag preparasyon, [pero] gin try man sang [IDC-BED] magpadala sang composed nga team. [Galing] may ara pa gid need i-improve particularly sa depensa naton," pahayag ni Coach Jojo Tabaloc ng IDC-BED Junior Medics.

Isinukbit sa SRIC ang gintong medalya samantala nasungkit naman ng Junior Medics ang pilak kung saan umukit ito ng panibagong rekord para sa IDC-BED dahil unang beses nitong makauwi ng medalya sa larangan ng basketball sa ILOPRISAA.

In the spirit of Christmas, the Supreme Student Government of Iloilo Doctors' College - Basic Education Department distributed relief goods to public transportation drivers as part of their Christmas Gift Giving event on December 20, 2024.

Last December 6, the SSG delivered relief goods to the victims of Brgy. San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City fire accident where the spare relief goods that were not given were offered to the jeepney and tricycle drivers that were passing by the school premises of IDC-BED.

“While we were packing the goods for the fire victims of Brgy. San Pedro nakita namon nga damo gali ang nahatag sang mga students for them. So we decided na ihatag na lang namon sa mga drivers as an advance small Christmas treat, thanking them for their hardwork in giving us access in our everyday lives,” said Karly Rojas, SSG President 2024-2025.

The relief goods were donated by the IDC-BED learners from the preschool to the senior high school, this is also the last project of the SSG of IDC-BED this year.

Bumwelta ng serye-seryeng tatlong puntos ang SRIC mula sa mahinang depensa ng kabilang koponan kung saan sinubok ng Junior Medics humabol sa kalamangan ng katunggali, 62-52; ngunit nanatiling dehado pa rin at siyang natuldukan ang laro sa 74-59 na iskor, wagi ang SRIC.

In celebration of the birth anniversary of national hero Graciano Lopez-Jaena, students and faculty of Iloilo Doctors College, along with workers and residents across Iloilo City, will enjoy a day-off tomorrow, December 18, as the city observes a Special Non-Working Day.

An official announcement through Executive Order No. 168 was signed by Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas on December 17, making it effective immediately, declaring December 18, 2024, a non-working holiday in accordance with Republic Act No. 6155.

The Executive Order emphasizes that the annual holiday is deeply rooted in the cultural and historical fabric of the city and provides residents an opportunity to commemorate Lopez-Jaena's contributions to Philippine history.

Showcasing their talents, Teatro Sinag performed their original play entitled “Hukay-Ukay” for the third day of The Calle Real Christmas Night Market at Sunburst Park, Iloilo City, December 15.

Iloilo City government Meetings, Incentives, Conference & Exhibition Center (MICE) invited members of the Teatro Sinag from Iloilo Doctors’ College - Basic Education Department (IDC - BED) to deliver a performance that told the story of a girl meeting a community of vendors and discovering their struggles being part of the marginalized sectors.

“One week ang amon preparation and hindi biro ang one week for us to create this production kay mostly sa ila zero sa experience and at the same time, first time, so grateful gid ako kay committed gid sila tanan and proud gid ako sa ila because I can see that the audience is enjoying and they [the actors] are also enjoying,” said Mary Albert Macariola, Teatro Sinag’s adviser and director of the play.

This performance marked Teatro Sinag’s third production of “Hukay-Ukay” with new and old members alike; this is also the theater's first public and out of school play this school year.
