TO ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

The Department of Education (DepEd) on Sunday announced that all public schools in the country shall implement asynchronous classes on April 29-30, 2024 due to the latest heat index forecast and upcoming nationwide transport strike.

Teaching and non-teaching personnel in all public schools will not be required to report to their stations, according to DepEd.

"However, activities organized by Regional and Schools Division Offices, such as Regional Athletic Association Meets and other division or school level programs, to be conducted on the aforementioned dates may push through as scheduled, provided that measures for the safety of all participants have been carefully considered," the agency clarified.

Meanwhile, private schools are not covered by DepEd's order, but they have the discretion to implement distance learning. (Facebook/DepEd Philippines)
