Today, February 25, marks the 39th anniversary of the 1986 People Power Revolution, a historic movement that restored democracy in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, in observance of this occasion, February 25 is designated as a Special Working Holiday under Proclamation No. 727, s. 2024, meaning work and classes will proceed as usual unless otherwise declared by respective institutions or local government units.

Let us continue to uphold the spirit of People Power—for the nation and for our democracy.

Hindi talaga maiwasang balikan ang alaala ng nakaraan, no? Lalong-lalo na ang mga nabuong samahan noong hayskul—iyong tipong parang kahapon lang ay naglalakad kaming magkakaibigan pauwi sa aming paaralan. Bibili ng fishball sa tabi-tabi, magtatawanan, magkukulitan, at higit sa lahat, magku-kwentuhan ng mga pangyayaring hindi na muling mababalikan. Para bang, sa buong araw na pagod ang katawan, hindi pa rin kami nawawalan ng enerhiyang magbardagulan...

Ito na pala ang huli nating sabay-sabay na paghakbang pauwing eskuwela.

Sana pala, binagalan muna namin ang bawat paghakbang, kasi sa pagtatapos pala nitong sabay-sabay na paglakad, mauuwi kami sa magkakaibang daanan—ang landas na magtatapos ng aming samahan, sapagkat hindi iisa ang aming nais na larangan.

Nasa siyudad ang isa, nasa norte naman ang iba, at itong natira kong kasama—hindi kami nagtutugma ng iskedyul sapagkat magkaiba naman ang aming programa. Kahit anong gawin namin, hindi umaayon ang kapalaran upang mabuo muli ang aming pagsasama.

Ang dating maingay na kalsada ay tumahimik na. Ang punong lamesa, ngayo’y bakante na.

Sana, sa susunod na habang-buhay, ako at ang mga kaibigan ko noong sekondarya ay nasa iisa pa ring eskwela.

Ngunit, malabo ito. Mahirap itong mangyari.

Kaya ang munting hiling ko na lamang ay sana, sa iba’t ibang landas na aming tinahak, pagtagumpayin pa rin kaming magkakaibigan.

Ito naman ang laman ng aming kwentuhan noon, hindi ba? Ang magtagumpay sa hinaharap, ang malagpasan ang mga laban.

Sa huli, iisa pa rin naman ang aming turingan, mag-iba man ang landas na daraanan.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈 | First-year students and faculty from the College of Business, Accountancy, and Public Administration (CBAPA) participated in the One Billion Rising (OBR) campaign on February 14 at Magsaysay Boulevard.

The OBR dance began at 8:30 a.m., with physical education students leading the opening performance of "Isang Bilyong Babae ang Babangon," joined by faculty members and students from various CBAPA programs.

One Billion Rising is a global movement founded by V (formerly known as Eve Ensler) to raise awareness and call for an end to sexual violence against women. The participation of CBAPA students and faculty highlighted their support for the campaign's advocacy. | via Chexyl Cuñado

𝐌𝐀𝐏𝐀 | Pagtanggap at Pagpapatawad

Mula sa pagtanggi sa katotohanan, hanggang sa galit na isigaw ang mga tanong na tila walang kasagutan. Kasunod ay ang pakikipagkasundo sa kawalan, ang paglubog sa pangungulila, at ang bigat ng pagsuko. Ngunit sa bawat hakbang ng hinagpis, sa dulo pala’y may liwanag na naghihintay.

Sa pagtanggap, tayo’y babangon—bitbit ang aral ng kahapon, muling susubok, at patuloy na mangangarap. Hango sa limang yugto ng pagdadalamhati, ang mga piyesang ito’y paalala na sa bawat pahina ng sakit at pag-aalinlangan, may panibagong umagang sisikat, may sugat na unti-unting hihilom, at may sarili tayong muling makikilala.

𝐌𝐀𝐏𝐀 | Pinili kita kahit iba ang nasa tibok ng puso ko

Nandito na naman ako sa isang silid,
malungkot, nag-iisip kung anong mangyayari sa paligid.
Bukas ba’y payapa muli ang isip, o bibilis na naman ang tibok ng dibdib?

Sa bawat karanasang dumaraan sa buhay ko,
may mga tinig na lumalait sa sarili kong pagkatao—
sa pagkataong mahina, puro salita, walang gawa;
sa pagkataong kulang sa tiyaga, umaasa sa kasiyahang napupunta sa wala.

At ang hirap isipin na sa dalawang taon ko sa kolehiyo,
nananatili pa rin akong talo.
Sa kursong hindi ko naman gusto,
parang tinik sa lalamunan ang pagpili—
kursong magbibigay ba ng galak at ngiti?
Halo-halong emosyon ang lumulutang,
kahit sino-sino na lang ang tinalunton.
Bakit kaya noon, kaydali mangarap?

Sana pala, pinagbutihan ko noong mga panahong kaya ko pang humabol.

tinatahak ang kursong napili, hindi dahil sa pangarap,
kundi dahil sa praktikalidad,
dahil sa takot na walang patutunguhan kung iba ang pinili,
dahil ito na lamang ang tanging kakayahan ng aking pananatili.

At ngayon, hindi ko na iniisip kung ano ang darating sa kinabukasan ko.

Ano nga ba ang magiging kapalaran ko?
Kung sariling kaligayahan lang palagi ang iniisip—
pangarap na maging sino o ano—
palagi na lang bang ganito ang buhay ko?
O isang araw, babagsak ang katawan ko,

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | CBAPA Yields 13 Midyear Grads

Under the theme "Ramonian Graduates in the AI Era: Empowered by Connectivity, Grounded in Humanity," midyear graduates from the College of Business, Accountancy, and Public Administration (CBAPA) and other colleges celebrated their commencement rites at the University Gymnasium, February 7.

CBAPA conferred 13 bachelor's degrees, including one (1) in Business Administration Major in Financial Management (BSBA-FM), four (4) in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM), and eight (8) in Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA).

The ceremony emphasized the university’s commitment to preparing graduates for the opportunities and challenges of the AI era, fostering both technical expertise and ethical, human-centered practices. | via Darlene Relopez

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | JFINEX-PRMSU Holds Financial Literacy Seminar

The Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX)-PRMSU Chapter hosted "FinNext 2025: Shaping the World of Financial Literacy in a Digital World," on January 31, 2025, at the PRMSU Gymnasium.

JFINEX Adviser Dr. Jennelyn R. Artates opened the program, followed by messages from College of Business, Accountancy, and Public Administration (CBAPA) Dean Dr. Allan T. Dela Peña and CBAPA-SBO Secretary Ms. Jackie Delos Reyes. Guest speakers shared insights, with Mr. John Rey D. Mercurio, MPA, discussing "Mastering Personal Finances," and CBAPA instructor Mr. Dan Abaga presenting "Building a Healthy Money Mindset."

Ms. Bea Elisa Edrada, Chapter President, emphasized the importance of the event, saying, "FinNext 2025 is a financial literacy initiative focused on raising awareness in our community, especially among students. Although it's not a huge event, it aims to make a positive difference in how students understand and manage their finances."

This was JFINEX’s first time conducting a financial literacy seminar. As a longstanding organization within PRMSU-CBAPA, JFINEX’s efforts are aligned with their mission to empower economic growth and foster an informed and prosperous community.

"FinNext 2025 is not just about improving their own financial security, but also encouraging students to share their knowledge with others, spreading the importance of financial literacy in their communities," Ms. Edrada added.

Participants engaged in activities, including an icebreaker led by JFINEX Public Information Officer Ms. Kaithra Jade Abasta and a performance by JFINEX Business Manager Ms. Denise C. Quiro. An open forum and raffle followed, facilitated by JFINEX Vice President for Communication Ms. Stetchie Joy Daniac and JFINEX Vice President for Internal Affairs Ms. Christine Mae Eamilao.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | CBAPA's Publication Celebrates First Anniversary

The Prestige, the official publication of the College of Business, Accountancy, and Public Administration (CBAPA), marked its first anniversary yesterday at the college's audio-visual room with the theme "Inkfarers' Return: Reviving the Past, Empowering the Present, Envisioning the Future."

Three resource speakers were invited to share their insights with the publication’s members: Mr. Jovencio M. Marquez Jr., the university’s Vocational Placement Coordinator I; Mr. Aries Refugio, editor-in-chief of The Bastion Group of Publications (TBGP); and Ms. Princess Hannah Baluyot, former editor-in-chief of Ang SinAg, the official newsletter of the College of Arts and Sciences.

"Certainty is the biggest enemy of finding truth," said Mr. Marquez in his inspirational message.

Mr. Marquez, a former editor-in-chief of TBGP, was involved in launching their official magazine and newsletter.

"We need doubt to make sense. Without it, you stay complacent—you take everything as good, but your foundation can easily shatter. By challenging our doubts, we either prove them unnecessary or arrive at bulletproof truths. That is the purpose of doubt," he added.

Mr. Refugio and Ms. Baluyot shared their experiences in journalism and provided writing tips.

After the morning session, the CBAPA publication held an afternoon program featuring games, an exchange gift activity, and a celebratory singing of the "Happy Birthday" song.

"Patuloy tayong maghayag, patuloy tayong mamayagpag, at patuloy nating ilayag Ang Tanyag," said Hart S. Elamparo, the publication’s current EIC, in his closing remarks.

IBA, ZAMBALES – Students and faculty staff from the College of Business, Accountancy, and Public Administration (CBAPA) at President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) joined the university-wide celebration for Christine Juliane "CJ" Opiaza, Miss Grand International 2024 First Runner-Up, during her homecoming, January 27.

CBAPAnians, along with other students and faculty, enthusiastically participated in the warm welcome prepared for the Zambaleña beauty queen. The campus grounds came alive with banners, balloons, cheers, as CJ showed her appreciation through the parade, thanking the PRMSU community for their unwavering support throughout her pageant journey.
