LOOK: In a proactive endeavor to enhance the preparedness of its fourth-year students, the College of Education (CoEd) organized the Orientation on Student Teaching today, January 26, 2024 at the Campus Function Hall.
Supervised by Practice Teaching Department Head Prof. Lourdes Macawile, the event brought together leaders from various educational institutions.
In attendance to the event were CoEd Dean Dr. Eddie Manzano, and Bachelor of Elementary Education Program Head Dr. Cenby Eppie Gaytos, alongside other educators from different partner schools. Among them are Master Teacher (MT) I Esperanza Malate from Taytay Integrated School, Carol Alipez from Guiuan National High School, Mercedes National High School Student Teaching Coordinator Meldrid D. Bagaindoc, and MT III Vidal S. Badilla, From Cantahay Elementary School who all imparted invaluable insights and expertise, aiming to equip aspiring educators for their student teaching endeavors.
The orientation served as a comprehensive immersion into the student teaching realm, offering students a firsthand glimpse into the complexities of classroom dynamics and pedagogical strategies. With a curriculum meticulously designed to address the nuanced challenges of student engagement, participants delved into discussions on effective teaching methodologies and student interaction dynamics. Through interactive sessions and expert guidance, student interns gained a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and expectations associated with student teaching, preparing them to navigate the educational landscape with competence.
Armed with newfound knowledge and insights, fourth-year students emerged from the orientation poised to embark on their student teaching journeys. As they step into the role of educators-in-training, the lessons gleaned from the orientation serve as guiding beacons, empowering them to inspire and shape the minds of tomorrow.
