𝗗𝗣𝗪𝗛-𝗩 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝟮𝟳𝟵.𝟴𝟰-𝗠 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗹, 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 5 has completed the storm surge protection project amounting to P279.84-M in the coastal communities of barangays San Rafael and Santa Cruz in the town of Donsol, Sorsogon.

This project is aimed to provide protection and increase the resilience of the said coastal communities in case of storm surges, and other weather-related hazards. In addition, this project is said to provide long long-term economic sustainability for the community.

According to DPWH-V Regional Direction Virgilio C. Eduarte, this project will serve as protection against storm surges and will help the fishermen in accessing fishing grounds while preserving their traditional practices.

𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 – PRC announced that 1,655 out of 3,058 successfully passed the August 2024 REELE.

The Registered Electrical Engineering board exams were conducted on August 24-25, 2024, at PRC testing centers in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao.

The Board of Electrical Engineering is headed by its Chairman, Engr. Francis V. Mapile and its member, Engr. Jaime V. Mendoza.

𝗙𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 – PRC announced that 510 out of 995 successfully passed the August 2024 FTLE.

The Food Technologist board exam was conducted on August 10-11, 2023, at testing centers located at NCR, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao. The Board of Food Technology Chairman, Anthony C. Sales, and its member, Remedios V. Baclig, headed the licensure exams.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region V, under the leadership of Regional Director Virgilio EDuarte, has successfully completed the Salvacion-Taris Road Project, a major infrastructure development aimed at providing wider and safer roads for community vehicles.

According to Salvador Leonida, Barangay Chairman, Brgy. Salvacion, Baras, Catanduanes, this project is of big help since it provides wider space for the community.

“Dakulang pagbabago ta yung kasu inot saday ang tinampo dito. Sa DPWH, saka mga kung sino pang nagsuporta, salamat po ta dakulang ginhawa sa samuyang mga barangay digdi sa Salvacion dahilan jan na mayang na ang samuyang tinampo.”

Arestado kaninang madaling-araw si Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo matapos sumuko sa himpilan ng pulisya sa Camalig sa bisa ng arrest warrant sa kaniyang pagkakasangkot sa pagkapaslang kay dating Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Rodel Batocabe at isa nitong Police Es**rt.

Si Baldo ay sumuko kasama at ayon umano sa inisyatiba ng kaniyang nakatatandang kapatid na si Camalig Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo Jr.

Sa kabila ng pagkakadakip, naniniwala aniya ang Alkalde ng Daraga na ang kaniyang hinaharap na kaso ay tanging pagsubok lamang na kaniyang malalampasan.

“Ang mga pagsubok sa bwa’y, nagaabot talaga. Pero kadalasan, naga-agi man sana. Nagatubod akong, paryu nung dati, malampasan ta man sana yadi. Habang diyan yan, aampangon tang may kusog nin bot dangan tiwala sa Ma’l na D’yos,” pahayag ni Baldo sa kaniyang Facebook account.

Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Camalig PNP ang alkalde at inaasahang dadalhin sya sa Maynila upang litisin ang kaso bilang itinuturong mastermind sa likod ng Batocabe slay noong 2018.

According to Lany Anonuevo, Barangay Chairman of Brgy. Lidong, Sto. Domingo, Albay, this project is of big help to reduce flood hazards as well as eradicating the traffic in their community.

“Malaking tulong ang proyektong ito, dahil sa bagong gawa at mataas na tulay na ito ay hindi na aapaw ang tubig sa ilog tuwing malakas ang ulan at hindi na din masisira ang mga poste ng mga kabahayan malapit sa ilog. Hindi na din magkakatraffic sa lugar.”
