The Guihulngan City Post - Media and Trends IS SUPPORTING YOU ALL THE WAY TO SINULOG FESTIVAL 2025 🎊

Last year when BUGLASAN FESTIVAL was held on November in Dumaguete City, Bais City was the Grand Champion, they will represent Negros Oriental together with Dumaguete contingents for SINULOG FESTIVAL 2025 🐬🐠🐟

The richness of marine life in the bays is because of these mangroves. The city is characterized by widespread lowlands that are ideal for sugar planting because of the city's naturally fertile soil.

The territorial jurisdiction of Bais includes two islets (Olympia and Dewey) and the Bais Bay. The Bais Bay area holds a diversity of animal life and is a rich breeding and fishing ground for demersal and other fish species, and also invertebrates. South Bais Bay is also famous for dolphin watching.

Education Improvement is evaluated based on school enrollment figures, education quality, and the state of educational facilities. Other influential factors include Good Governance attributes such as transparency, corruption deterrence, citizen engagement, and adaptability to modern challenges like climate change and digitalization.

Who is Leonor Briones? ✍️📝

Leonor "Liling" Magtolis Briones is a renowned Filipino academician, economist, and civil servant who made significant contributions to the country's education and public administration sectors. Born on October 16, 1940, in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, Briones rose to prominence through her exceptional academic achievements, earning degrees from prestigious institutions like Silliman University, University of the Philippines Diliman, Leeds University, and Harvard University.

Her distinguished career spans various roles, including Secretary of Education under the Duterte administration, professor emeritus of public administration at the University of the Philippines' National College of Public Administration and Governance, and chairman of the board of trustees at Silliman University. Briones also served as Presidential Adviser for Social Development and National Treasurer of the Philippines from 1998 to 2001.

Her impressive portfolio includes teaching public fiscal administration, consulting for the Senate of the Philippines and international organizations, and leading various social development initiatives. Briones was also a director of AgriNurture, Inc. and Megawide Construction Corp., showcasing her expertise in both public and private sectors.

Throughout her career, Briones received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Outstanding Sillimanian Award, Bayi Citation Award for Government Service, and Presidential Lingkod ng Bayan Award. Her commitment to good governance, public finance, and social development has made a lasting impact on the country.
