On January 15, 2025, Teacher Education Week culminated the 3rd Pinning and Send-Off Rites for pre-service teachers known as Batch SIKLAB (Stellar Illuminator that Kindles the Learners' Ability and Brilliance) 2025. This year's theme, "TEP: Strengthening Pathways for Redirection," was celebrated at Christ the King College's Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo Gymnasium (MIDES GYM).

The event commenced with a Holy Eucharistic Celebration led by Reverend Father Nicolas S. Basadre, SSJV. In his homily. Father Basadre emphasized. "You are not an ordinary teacher, you are entrusted by the Christ the King College Community to fulfill your mission in teaching and helping your students." His words prompted the candidates to reflect on their purpose and commitment to the teaching profession.

Following the Mass, the honor guards from the Criminology Department led a ceremonial procession featuring the candidates alongside their parents, siblings, and guardians. Mr. Pericles G. Aninion, MPM, formally opened the Pinning and Send-Off Rites, signifying a momentous occasion for the pre-service teachers. Subsequently, Dr. Carmelita C. Labadan, PhD presented the 38 pre-service teacher candidates: 14 from the Bachelor of Elementary Education, 13 from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English, 5 from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino, and 6 from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics. The school president, S. Ma. Anecita C. Navaja, RVM, confirmed the candidates while their parents and loved ones pinned them.

The batch's distinguished speaker, Mr. Rico E. Pajo, LPT, delivered an inspiring address, sharing his personal journey and underscoring the resilience required of pre-service teachers. He highlighted the importance of continuous learning and how investing in education creates opportunities for personal growth, career advancement, and meaningful contributions to society.

Additionally, Mrs. Mary Grace M. Mortejo led a prayer for the parents, followed by Vera Carnille M. Mortejo, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the pre-service teachers. The ceremony featured a heartfelt tribute song entitled, "At the Beginning" by Donna Lewis and Richard Marx, performed by the official teaching interns, which was followed by a rose presentation to their loved ones. The pre-service teachers also showcased their talents with a short intermission dance.

This event was not merely an academic ceremony but a celebration of familial bonds, as parents and guardians were invited to receive pins in honor of their accomplished children. The ceremony concluded with post-ceremony refreshments, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and celebration.

Despite the bad weather, on January 15, 2025, a recent vocational talk was held at Christ the King College in Mother Ignacia Gymnasium, attending all Catholic female students of both Senior Highschool and Higher Education Department, pursued to encourage young individuals to consider living a religious life, exploring the themes of spiritual fulfillment, community service, and devotion to God.

The event, which led by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters, based on their religious backgrounds including the personal journeys through challenges, and the joy to live with a vocation devoted to faith. The talk aimed to supply attendees with a deeper understanding of what it means to live a religious life and to inspire those who build their own path.

Despite the challenges, the RVM Sisters emphasized the profound joy and fulfillment that comes from living in God's will and making a meaningful impact on others.

"You are called to a special vocation which is a religious life, may tawag ang Panginoon pero hindi ninyo pinapansin. God called us into a special vocation because He has a special plan for us. Do not reject the calling of God when you have a tendency to religious life." said by Sis. Maria Annie Barona, RVM, who highlighted the significance of service to others, touching on their work the poor, marginalized, or in educational settings.

Moreover, the students have given an opportunity to asked an insightful questions about the daily lives of those who chose to live in a religious life and how to contemplate a deeper sense of faith in their own lives. The vocational talk was a reminder of the spiritual richness that comes with devoting one's life to faith and service.

The event concluded with a prayer which sang harmoniously by the RVM Sisters and an open invitation for those interested in learning more about religious vocations, encouraging them to explore the possibilities of a religious vocation in an ever-changing world.

January 8, 2025 – Christ the King College: In anticipation of the May 12, 2025, National and Local Elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) conducted an Automated Counting Machine (ACM) Roadshow at the CKC Gymnasium on Wednesday morning.

The event, organized in collaboration with the City Election Office, was led by City Election Officer Atty. Margie Lustre Luma-ad. Attendees included senior high school students, college students, and school personnel, who eagerly participated in the informative and interactive session.

The roadshow began with a comprehensive discussion outlining the advantages and disadvantages of the new voting machine. Topics such as the machine's efficiency, reliability, and potential challenges were addressed. Participants were also briefed on the dos and don’ts of voting, ensuring they were well-informed and prepared to exercise their rights responsibly.

A key highlight of the event was the hands-on demonstration of the ACM, where selected students and staff tested the machine under the guidance of COMELEC officers. This practical activity allowed attendees to familiarize themselves with the voting process, fostering confidence and transparency ahead of the elections.

The ACM Roadshow was well-received by participants, many of whom expressed appreciation for the initiative’s emphasis on voter education and preparedness.

COMELEC reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth, fair, and informed election process, encouraging the public to remain engaged and vigilant as the May elections draw near.

The Higher Education Department welcomed the yuletide season with the Sparkling Christmas Party on December 18, 2024, at the M.I.D.E.S. Gymnasium. The theme “Unveil the Sparkling Magic of Christmas in the Spirit of Hope and Synodality” brought students and faculty together for a night of unity, joy, and festive cheer.

Hosted by Ms. Hannah Jane P. Sanoy and Mr. James A. De Jesus, the celebration began with a vibrant performance by the CKCSSC and continued with interactive games like Ano Itey, Friendly Feud, and Guess the Song. A reflective prayer led by Ms. Yshanne Cadungog set the tone for dinner, followed by the Christmas Program ID showcase, which highlighted creativity and the true spirit of Christmas.

Special performances by CKCSSC President Ms. Ayah Mabelle A. Lingad and Mr. Paul Rem Jee Diaz, LPT, captivated the audience. Winners of the Curricular and Co-Curricular Club Bulletin Competition were announced, and the much-anticipated raffle draw and disco party added to the excitement.

CKCSSC Vice President Ms. Kanna Marie P. Macabenta delivered an inspiring message on hope and togetherness, and the event concluded with a heartfelt prayer.

We express our sincere appreciation to the CKCSSC officers and their adviser, Mr. Paul Rem Jee Diaz, LPT, the Sparkling Christmas Party was a resounding success, spreading joy and holiday spirit to all.

𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓶𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓼 𝓪 𝓒𝓱𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓶𝓪𝓼, 𝓶𝓮𝓻𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓻?

The 18th Day of December became the latest milestone of accomplishment, as the Higher Education Students led the way to the grandest hour of appreciation for their hard work and glow to the academic realm – the Dean's List Recognition. The event began at 1:30 PM inside MIDES GYM alongside the expertise of Mr. John Louie P. Guimaras LPT, MAed–Elt and Ms. Blessed Joana O. Takling RP; the afternoon's masters of ceremony. With the touch of emotion and dots of fulfillment, the recognition is spelled with grandeur for it highlights the colorful scheme of Victory in the smiles of the awardees.

The SY 2023-2024 Dean's List recognition was issued to amplify justice for such excellent work marked by the HED students; a culmination to appreciate the efforts exerted with dedication and endless interest in learning. It has flourished the fate of unfathomable joy as students received their academic merit, which connotes achievement along the fountain of their labor and commitment.

Undeniably, Christmas is the season of Giving; having to recognize students with extraordinary skills anchored with academic integrity, makes the season 𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗥.

Tears, roses, inspirational words, and an emotional tribute to their parents, Graduating students of the Accountancy Program of Christ the King College's (CKC) Higher Education Department (HED) dedicates tribute song to parents, loved ones, and teachers who assisted them towards their path of success.

The ceremony took place at the CKC Mother Ignacia Gymnasium last December 6, 2024, right after the First Friday mass Celebration. The event proceeded firstly with a processional march led by an entrance of the colors, followed by the Accountancy graduating students, their parents, and the CKC faculty and middle administrators present.

Furthermore, the event progressed with a heartwarming and inspiring welcome from the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Paul Rem Jee Diaz, who highlighted and acknowledged the struggles of being an Accountancy student and welcomed them into the "real world".

"The life of an Accountancy student is surely not a walk in the park," said Mr. Diaz.

Additionally, the guest speaker, Mrs. Lyzel Erezo-Borza, CPA, also send her deep regards and shared her passion of being the breadwinner of her family, proudly sharing her past that led her to this moment.

"I was the breadwinner of my family, I was the one who supported my brother's education and now, look at him, my brother is now an engineer!" Mrs. Erezo-Borza shared.

After the pinning of the newly-Interns, they sung a tribute song for their parents and supporters with roses given towards each parent.

As the event ended, smiles and tears of joy filled the gymnasium, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their journey—one filled with hope, perseverance, and the drive to succeed in the real world.

The parade commenced at the CKC exit gate, proceeding through Tuto Street, Cabilto Extension Street, and the National Highway, before making its grand return through the CKC entrance gate. The carefully planned route ensured visibility and engagement, highlighting the community’s pride In this annual tradition.

Leading the parade were the Police Marshalls, ensuring safety and order, followed by the Colors, proudly displaying CKC’s banners and flags. The Grade School Drum and Lyre Corps (DLC) set a lively tone, succeeded by Grade 4-6 students marching with youthful energy. Next were the school vehicle with first-aiders and decorated vehicles carrying Pre-Kinder, Kinder, and Grade 1-3 students, delighting the crowd with their creative floats. High School DLC led the secondary school contingent, followed by Grade 7-10 and SMA Lunao students, who participated with enthusiasm. Senior high school spirit was displayed by Grade 11-12 students, with SMA Lunao DLC adding rhythm and energy. College clusters, including BSBA/BSN, BSSW/BSCrim, BSHM/BSIT, and TEP/BSA, exhibited camaraderie and pride, culminating with CKC personnel closing the parade with dignity and grace

This spectacular event underscored CKC’s mission of excellence and unity, leaving participants and onlookers with cherished memories of a meaningful celebration.
