๐„๐ƒ๐ˆ๐“๐Ž๐‘๐˜๐€๐‹ | Alon ng Pagsubok o Pag-unlad?

Ang kamakailang desisyon ng Korte Suprema na nagpapahintulot sa komersiyal na pangingisda sa karagatang munisipal ay nagdulot ng alon ng pag-alala sa buong Pilipinas. Ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ay nag-aapila sa hatol sapagkat isinasawalang bisa nito ang taon at dekadang pagsisikap na maprotektahan ang baybayin at ang biodiversity ng karagatan. Ang desisyon na ito, bagama't makakatulong sa mabilisang pagtaas ng output ng ekonomiya, ay naghahatid din ng malubhang mga katanungan tungkol sa matagalang pagpapanatii ng pangingisdaan sa bansa.

Dito, nakasalalay ang balanse sa pagitan ng pag-unlad ng ekonomiya at pagpapangalaga sa kalikasan. Habang ang komersyal na pangisdaan ay walang alinlangang nakatutulong sa ekonomiya ng bansa, ang pagpapahintulot ng walang limitasyong pag-access sa mga tubig ng munisipyo ay nagbabanta sa kabuhayan ng mga maliliit na mangingisda na umaasa sa mga lugar na ito para sa kanilang ikabubuhay.

Bukod dito, ito ay nagtataas ng mga katanungan tungkol sa pagpapatupad ng umiiral na mga regulasyon. Ang mas mahigpit na mga regulasyon ay maaaring mapagaan ang mga negatibong epekto ng komersyal na pangingisda sa mga tubig ng munisipyo ay kailangang patunayan pa. Ang kasaysayan ng pangangasiwa ng pangingisda sa Pilipinas ay nagpapahiwatig na ang pagpapatupad ay maaaring maging mahirap, at ang kakulangan ng epektibong pagsubaybay ay maaaring magpalala sa problema.

Binibigyang-diin ng apela ng BFAR ang pangangailangan para sa isang detalyadong pagsusuri sa mga patakaran sa pangangasiwa ng pangingisda ng bansa. Ang isang hakbang ay importante, isa na isinasaalang-alang ang mga pangangailangang pang-ekonomiya ng industriya ng pangingisda habang pinoprotektahan ang pangmatagalang kalusugan ng ecosystem sa dagat. Maaaring kasangkot dito ang pagtatakda ng mas mahigpit na quota, pagpapatupad ng mas mahigpit na mga sistema ng pagsubaybay, at paggalugad ng mga alternatibong napapanatiling kasanayan sa pangingisda. Bukod dito, ang mas malaking pamumuhunan sa aquaculture at iba pang mga anyo ng napapanatiling produksyon ng pagkain ay maaaring mabawasan ang presyon sa mga wild fish stocks.

Binibigyang-diin ng desisyon ng Korte Suprema ang pagiging kumplikado ng pagbabalanse ng paglago ng ekonomiya at pangangalaga sa kapaligiran. Ang apela ng BFAR ay nagbibigay ng pagkakataon upang muling suriin ang kasalukuyang diskarte at magtayo ng isang daan sa isang mas napapanatiling kinabukasan para sa pangingisda sa Pilipinas, na tinitiyak ang maayos na industriya ng pangingisda at kalikasan.

The Ripples, the official student publication of the College of Fisheries, faces a peculiar money problem.

Their arinola, used to collect the 70-peso publication fee, dispenses only 1000-peso bills. This has created a significant headache for the student journalists.

The sheer volume of large bills, coupled with the scarcity of smaller bills, has left the publication struggling to make change.

The weight of expectation hangs heavy, doesn't it?

We all yearn for that year, that exact moment when everything aligns, when the universe conspires to make our dreams a reality.

I've spent years โ€“ years I once boldly declared "my year" โ€“ in a state of what might seem like never-ending waiting. But those weren't wasted years; they were years of learning, of growth, and of development, gearing me for the success that I envision for so long.

2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 โ€“ these weren't failure year; they were the practice runs, the behind-the-scenes work, my very own rehearsals.

Each year brought its own set of challenges, its own unique lessons, its own opportunities for growth. By then, I embraced the struggles, learned from the mistakes, and emerged stronger, wiser, and more resilient with each passing year.

2025. A year I step into the podium, the year I finally unleash the potential I've been honing for so long. It's the year where I will I reap the rewards of my past efforts, the year I prove to myself โ€“ and to the world โ€“ what I'm capable of.

Ang kanyang mga salita, matalas at puno ng katotohanan, ay nagpahayag ng pagnanais para sa reporma at pagbabago. Hindi lamang siya isang manunulat, kundi isang manggagamot, iskultor, at isang taong may malawak na kaalaman sa iba't ibang larangan.

Sa paglipas ng mga taon, ang kanyang mga akda ay patuloy na binabasa, pinag-aaralan, at pinag-uusapan. Ang mga ito ay nagsisilbing gabay at inspirasyon sa pagsusulong ng katarungan, kalayaan, at pagkakaisa.
