Advocate and vlogger, Celine Murillo, known for her dedication to promoting Philippine's saribuhay (biodiversity) and natural heritage, recently captivated students and nature enthusiasts alike at her Meet and Greet and Mini Forum held at Mindanao State University, General Santos City.

The event was spearheaded by the Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape's Protected Area Management Office (SBPS PAMO) in collaboration with Kidlikasan, the Marine Biology Students' Society (MBSS), and more.

The meet and greet and mini forum served as a platform for meaningful discussions and exchanges of ideas, reaffirming the urgent need to prioritize conservation efforts and sustainable practices in the face of today's environmental challenges, as she named the triple planetary crisis: the climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.

Fang Clan roars onto the stage with a dynamic performance, electrifying the audience and prompting them to jam along, ultimately claiming first place in the BTOB competition. Meanwhile, Tail Clan's impressive performance secured them the second-place position.

And JAS like that! The Junior Aquaculturist Society emerged as the champions of the FISHTIVAL 2024 BATTLE OF THE BAND, securing their victory with a standout performance. The Talon Clan secured their place in the final standings with a strong showing. JAS do it, JAS made it!

The third day of Fishtival commenced with the Fishion Show; an exhibit featuring the installation and assembly of aquariums celebrating the ecological complexities of biotic and abiotic components intertwined in the threads sewn to the fabric of our green planet. Each display championed a habitat consisting of nature-identical environments and numerous aquatic fauna and flora, most notable of which are the variety of eye-catching fishes, all encapsulated in the confines of the rectangular transparent walls of the tanks. The Tail, Talon, and Fang Clans grapple to outperform with their presentations of their respective exhibits.

Meanwhile, cubical tents were thoughtfully and meticulously fashioned and filled with elements in the form of photos, trinkets, specimens, and instruments, all the while quintessentially representing each clan hailing from different departments. (Subtle distinctions were observable between but each department's identities were recognizable.) Tail Clan's booth, adorned with fish processing equipment and fish products, reflects the substantial impact and contribution of the fish processing sector in the industry and economy, not just at the regional but also at the national level. With their multiple 4-sided aquascapes, blue walls embellished with mementos of moments capturing the hard work of future aquaculturists, and a miniature replica of MSU-GSC's COF Laboratory and Research Station, Talon Clan's booth establishes the importance of aquaculture in meeting economic demands and maintaining food security. Fang Clan's fixation on advocating for marine life resonates just passing by the booth. With their superhero costume in the shape of a scuba diving wetsuit, fascinating animal and plant snaps and specimens indicating local marine biodiversity, still shots of ocean heroes saving the planet one environmental action at a time, and educational materials intentionally instilling the significance of marine ecological balance, they ensure to peek the attention of curious, concerned, and aware minds.

After considerate assessment and thorough deliberation, all clans surprisingly attained the same exact standings across the Fishion Show and Educational Booths, with the Talon Clan mightily grasping golds. Forced to bite the dust in the second spot is the Fang clan, with Tail Clan waving behind.

The booths celebrates the unwavering dedication and efforts that each individual allocates in fulfilling their roles consequently constituting to the development and success of their respective departments.

Held at the Office of Student Affairs badminton court, Fang, Tail, and Talon Clan clash their rockets up, ready to smash their opponents. In a battle where every serve counts, the courtside spirit has been unleashed, smashing the impossible and claiming victories one smash at a time. The Fang, Tail, and Talon Clan singles A and B men and women and mixed-doubles badminton team have shown outstanding speed, agility, and endurance, making every moment a breath-stopper for the audience. From raising rockets to raising standards, the three clans dominated the court with their determination.
They came to serve aces, not excuses, having in mind to aim high, one step at a time.

Fang Clan once again showcased its mastery and skills by securing top positions in 8-ball pool, Call of Duty, and the Dino Jump Competition, solidifying its status as a force to be reckoned with. Despite fierce competition from Talon and Tail Clan, Fang Clan soared to victory, leaving no doubt about their supremacy in diverse arenas.

Fang Clan surged to the top of the rankings, claiming the first and third seeds in the men's category. However, falling short in the hands of Talon clan, the women's category placed second and third spots. The Marine Biology department showcased their dominance in a series of intense Mobile Legends matches, standing their ground and emerging victorious. Moreover, John Lawrence Nono of Fang Clan played his cards well, as he brought his clan to the forefront in the MLBB Magic Chess Tournament.

Having their elimination round and championship game on the College of Fisheries grounds, the three clan men's table tennis team declined to easily let go of the gold. Showcasing their outmost passion to win, the Fang Clan and Tail Clan once again secured their spot in the championship game.

In their intense battle, the Fang Clan refused to let their heat down, gnashing their fangs on the battlefield. While it's not easy to overcome the resolve of the Tail Clan, the Fang Clan has not failed to reign in the final battle.

The spin cycle is high, but the Fang Clan prevails over the tide.

The Paddle Master has been decided! In their nerve-wracking championship battle, all the dropped sweats paid off. Tail Clan women's table tennis team victoriously conquered the conquest, refusing to lose their momentum on the battleground, resulting in Fang Clan placing second in table tennis.

Truly, nothing goes to waste in Tail. Either play hard or go home, say less and hit more!

The air was filled with the sound of pencils and brushes stroking canvases, along with the occasional murmur of approval from spectators. With a distinct vision, each artist representing the Tail, Talon, and Fang Clans set out to transform their ideas and emotions into captivating works of art and convince the judges of their artistic prowess.

As the clock ticked down to the end of the competition, which artists would bathe in glory?

Sports | 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻

From the first elimination round until the last, the MBSS, JAS, and FIPSO department men's and women's volleyball teams showcased their burning resolve to win and take their steps to the final battle. With their powerful smash and their indominatable team, both the JAS and FIPSO men's and women's volleyball teams successfully defended their ground and will face each other for the last time in their championship battle.

In their quest for perseverance, who will be the one to bump it, set it, and smack it down? TAIL CLAN? or TALON CLAN?

In the battle of hustle and hit! FANG CLAN and TAIL CLAN successfully secured their spot in the championship in both singles and doubles in women's table tennis. The three clans firmly uphold their momentum for victory in the elimination round at the College of Fisheries grounds. Serving their pingpong smash, FANG and TAIL CLAN triumphantly advanced to the final battle, resulting in the TALON CLAN being eliminated.

The road to winning is uphill; who will be the one to raise their paddle in victory? FANG or TAIL?

Came from different departments, different tribes, yet to win, have same vision.

As the game of brains begins, the waves of heat of prosperity have also started. It's the second day of Fishtival yet the flame of dedication of every department to win is still felt by all. The competition for the gem of success has just begun. Nevertheless, Marine Biology Students Society (MBSS) and Junior Aquaculturist's Society (JAS) didn't fail to obtain prosperity as they embarked in the battle of knowledge.

In Spelling Bee, MBSS successfully catches the wave of success followed by the FIPSO, and JAS.

Meanwhile, JAS is indeed not kidding when they say triumph is in their hands as they attained and conclude the team quiz with the score of 115, next is MBSS, followed by the FIPSO.

Academic night is not merely about achievements, not only a moment for celebration for individuals accomplishment. Hence, it is a night that fosters a culture of collaboration and camaraderie and an activity that nourishes the cooperation of everybody. It's a stage where goals intersect, ambition synchronize and perspectives collide in the pursuit of academic excellence.

Truly, the journey of learning is not just an expedition, yet an amazing journey that is full of discovery.
