If you’re paying your travel tax onsite using a credit or debit card, you will be charged an additional 1.30% of the total transaction amount, according to the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).

Effective beginning 12:01 AM on 06 January 2025, a Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) fee shall be charged for onsite travel tax transactions. The MDR fee will consist of 1.30% of the total transaction amount.

We remain committed to providing a seamless and secure payment experience for you. This adjustment will cover the operational costs charged by our payment processing partner for our onsite debit and credit card transactions.

Be careful about bringing money into the Philippines. The Bureau of Customs urge all travelers to comply with the declaration requirements to avoid any inconvenience or legal consequences. Amounts exceeding $10,000 must be declared through the E-Travel system and the Foreign Currency Declaration Form upon arrival and departure from any Philippine airport.

Finally! 13a Visa holder US passport renewal by mail in the Philippines timeline:
▶December 14, 2024 - mailed US passport renewal requirements to US Embassy, Manila.
▶December 16, 2024 - US Embassy, Manila received the packet
▶December 27, 2024 - In Process
▶January 02, 2025 - Mailed
▶February 01, 2025 - New US passport delivered
I will upload the video for the whole process soon. I was actually surprised how quick my husband's passport got processed compared to mine especially having too many holidays last December, but I'm glad it came in today and come Monday, we will do is annual report with the Bureau of Immigration.
