| 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗮-𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗠𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗻𝗮

Mula sa masaganang ani ng katotohanan sa pamamahayagan, narito na ang pinakabagong isyu ng Tubas Publication Filipino, ang opisyal na pahayagan ng Mataas na Paaralang Nasyonal Ng Estefania Montemayor! Bawat pahina ay hatid namin ang mga makabagong isyu, makabuluhang kwento, at mga mainit na balita.

Dito ay bida ang mga kuwento sa likod ng di-malimutang pangyayari sa ating komunidad, kasama ang mga pagtalakay sa mga matinding isyung panlipunan. Nang dahil sa Artikulo III Seksyon 4 ng Saligang Batas ng Pilipinas, ay patuloy nating ipaglalaban ang karapatan sa impormasyong katotohanan, katapatan sa paglathala at pagbabalita, at responsableng pamamahayag bilang mga boses ng masa at tinig ng katotohanan.

Sa likod nitong tabloid na hinain sa publiko, ay mga mamamahayag na masusing nagsaliksik upang ipahayag ang katotohanan na may dedikasyon at pagmamahal sa larangan ng pamamahayag. Ito ay isang patunay at simbolo na ang mamamahayag na kabataan ay hindi lamang sulat-sulat lang kundi isang panghabang-buhay na misyon at paglilingkod para sa publiko. Hawak ang lapis bilang sandata — patuloy naming itataguyod ang malayang pamamahayag.

Sa mga mainit na isyu, mananatiling gising ang Tubas Publication. Nawa’y inyong basahin at suportahan ang Tubas — tinig ng masa, para sa maliwanag na kinabukasan.

Tubas Publication of Estefania Montemayor National High School (EMNHS) secured a spot in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held at Capiz National High School (CNHS), March 8, 2025.

This year's theme is "Truth in the Digital Age: Fighting Misinformation and Disinformation." The event emphasized fighting disinformation and becoming warriors of truth.

There are nine individual categories in both English and Filipino, namely: News Writing, Sports Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Editorial Writing, Column Writing, Copyreading and Headlining, Science Writing and Photojournalism.

In addition, the Elementary Category will be held on March 9, at the same school while the Group Category both in Elementary and Secondary will be on March 15, 2025 at Vicente Andaya Sr. National High School.

EMNHS conducted the second monthly mass led by Fr. Glemil Jan G. Albania at the covered gym, February 27, 2025.

Fr. Glemil sent an inspiring and life changing homily to students and teachers that reflects about sins that we, humans, intrusively and repeatedly do. And in order to avoid this, we must find and pull-out the root. It might be hard at the moment but with faith and trust, we will overcome the guilt and conscience that these sins brought to us.

| 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

As the Santikanay 2025—Grand Rally and Debate at Estefania Montemayor National High School (EMNHS) commenced, One Este and Kadampig party list—the aspiring Supreme Secondary Learner's Government (SSLG) candidates voiced their platforms and advocacy to persuade their fellow Estefanians today, February 26.

On the onboarding program, the Commission on Validation and Screening in the person of Jose R. Venus, delivered his opening remarks.

"This is a crucial opportunity for you, our dear students, to determine the best candidates running for the various positions." said Venus, highlighting the importance of the students' participation on the election.

To present the President's Report, Fae Victoriano, current SSLG President enumerated her achievements and accomplishments during her term.

Meanwhile, for the message of challenge, Dr. Mira Sol B. Jamog, Chief Commissioner allowed candidates to provide student voters a clear understanding of their stance.

"This election is not just about choosing names, but rather about selecting individuals who will embody the spirit of servant leadership." said Jamog, encouraging voters to the importance of choosing leaders who will prioritize their needs.

Before ending the first part of the program, Mrs. Ma. Noeme B. Gelilang, Commissioner and Electoral Board formally introduced both the party's candidates.

During the Part 2 (two) of the event—the Grand Rally, both party list had the opportunity to showcase and introduce themselves along with their platforms to persuade the students.

On the debate, candidates of certain positions were asked questions coming from the students, approved by Learner Government Commission on Election and Appointments (LGCOMEA,) whereas they were also given time to react and throw questions from opposite party.

𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘆𝗮!

Sa loob ng halos ilang dekada, tayong mga Pilipino’y nagsikap at nagpakahirap upang matamasa ang tunay na kalayaan. Mula sa mga banyagang mapang-api, hanggang sa korapsyon na tila tanikala sa ating mga bibig. Sa lupang ating sinilingan, tayo ay nabuhay sa pusong demokrasya kung kaya sa atin nakasalalay ang desisyon ng mga namamahala para sa ating bayan. Ngunit paano kung ang mismong pinagkakatiwalan natin ang siyang nagtaksil sa atin? Handa ba tayong patawarin ito?

Ngayong araw taong 1986, tumatak sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas ang isa sa ’di malimutang pangyayari na nagresulta ng pagpatalsik sa puwesto sa diktatoryal na si Ferdinand Marcos Sr., ito ang EDSA People Power Revolution. Naging saksi ang taong bayan sa rebulosyong may layuning baguhin ang tagapamahala at sistema para sa bansang Pilipinas.

Hindi ito simpleng laban para isang pagbabago, hindi rin isang kwento ng mga politiko o lider ng oposisyon, ang EDSA ay isang pambansang pagkilos ng ordinaryong mamamayan na sawa na sa pang-aabuso ng kapangyarihan at pagtataksil ng mga nakakataas. Mula sa mga estudyante, g**o, pare, at mga manggagawa mula sa ibang sektor ng lipunas ay naging parte ng pagbawi sa nais na demokrasya.

Sa kabila ng mga banta at maaaring sirkumstansya, nanatiling payapa ang protesta, dala ang pananalig at tapang upang ipaglaban ang ninanais na kalayaan. Ito ay isang simbolo ng tapang at patriyotismo ng mga Pilipino na handang ipaglaban ang karapatan ng lahat kahit anoman magiging resulta.

Nawa’y maging aral sa ating lahat ang pangyayari sa EDSA, isang pangyayari na nakaukit at hindi malilimutan sa kasaysayan.

Sa paggunita ng Singles Awareness Day, muling nagbabalik ang tanong: Pagdiriwang ba ito ng kalayaan, o isang pagpapaalala sa ating solong estado? Para sa ilan, ito ay isang araw ng pagpapahalaga sa sarili at sa mga oportunidad na dala ng pagiging single—isang pagkakataon para sa self-care, pagtutok sa mga personal na ambisyon, at pag-enjoy sa mga kaibigan at pamilya nang walang komplikasyon ng isang relasyon. Para naman sa iba… well, baka naman kailangan ng extra-large na tub ng ice cream.

Ang Singles Awareness Day ay isang pagkakataon para sa pagtanggap sa ating kasalukuyang estado. Ito ay isang paalala na ang tunay na kaligayahan ay hindi nakasalalay sa isang romantikong relasyon, kundi sa pagmamahal sa sarili at sa mga taong nagmamahal sa atin. Kaya't, mga kapwa single, itaas ang inyong mga tasa (ng kape, o ice cream, depende sa inyong mood!) at ipagdiwang natin ang ating glorious, wonderfully single lives!

| Valentine's day is a special day of love, also referred to as "Feast of Valentines" where in love, intimacy, and admiration is celebrated.

Meanwhile, the holiday roots back to ancient Roman and Christian traditions, in honor to St. Valentine, a priest who defied marriage bans and showed kindness. Now, people worldwide celebrate by exchanging gifts and affection, making it a day to spread love and appreciation.

| Today, we give honor to the life and legacy of a brave patriot who served as the symbol of democracy in the Philippines, Evelio B. Javier.

Evelio Javier Day is observed every February 11 in order to pay tribute to the late Governor Evelio B. Javier who was assassinated on February 11,1986 in the midst of the campaign for the Snap Elections 1986, where the former Governor strongly supported Corazon Aquino who was then a presidential candidate. Evelio B. Javier’s assassination was one of the causes of the EDSA People Power Revolution that overthrew Marcos.

As we celebrate this day, may we never forget Evelio’s dedication to fight for the truth and democracy. May we keep in mind the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and make use of the privilege that is given to us to stand for our rights.

Cramming the night before an exam can lead to stress, fatigue, and poor retention of information. In order to perform at your outmost best, try these tips and tricks on how to avoid cramming on exams.

Tip No.1: Create a study schedule, plan your study sessions in advance, breaking topics and subjects into digestible sections. Studying bit by bit every day helps in preventing information overload.

Tip No. 2: Use active learning techniques, instead of passively reading, engage in summarizing notes, and teaching concepts to someone else, or in short just make your brain active and well stretched.

Tip No.3: Practice past exams, by answering previous test questions or quizzes may help you become familiar with the exam format and improve your memory.

Tip No. 4: Take regular break. Studying for long hours without breaks leads to burnout. For each lesson you learn give yourself a reward by having a short walk or breather in order to recharge.

Tip No.5: Get enough sleep. Sleep is crucial for your memory and focus. Avoid staying up late to cram, as a well-rested mind performs better than a overused and tired one.

Tip No.6: Stay organized by keeping all study materials in one place, take clear notes, and highlight key concepts to save time during revision.

Tip No.7: Avoid procrastination. Start studying early to reduce the pressure of last-minute cramming. Set realistic goals and stick to them and most importantly stay off your phone.

By following these tips and trick, you can reduce stress, improve your memory and your overall performance during exams. And as always, stay bright but not without saying goodnight. 😉

Estefanians holds a welcome ceremony to two SEA Teacher Exchange Student namely; Anggistia Malya Putri from Universitas Ahmad Dalan (UAD) and Chelsea Malva Annontoyo from Universitas Enegeri Subarata (UNESA) at the school gym.

Putri and Annontoyo are set to end their student internship at EMNHS as a part of the objectives of the SEA Student Teacher Exchange Program: to develop teaching pedagogy, improve English proficiency, and gain a broader perspective in diverse culture.

Mr. Ernesto C. Ynion, Assistant School Principal II/OIC, extended his warmest welcome through his opening remarks to Dr. Marie Jean P. Penson, the Satellite College Director of Capiz State University (CapSU)-Dumarao Campus; Dr. Ma. Julie S. Lademora, Program Chair of Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) and Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED); and Dr. Erlyn F. Lauron, Coordinator Student Internship Program for entrusting EMNHS to hold the ceremony. Ynion also welcomed and wish Putri and Annontoyo a good luck for their incoming journey.

Dr. Penson and Dr. Lademora also express their gratitude for the partnership of both institutions for accepting the SEA exchange student. In addition, Dr. Lauron emphasized the program rationale: to enhance the skills of the participant specifically the English communication, pre-service teacher practice, and the exchange of knowledge and culture.

“We are excited to connect with you guys,” said Putri. She added she is looking forward to learn the Filipino culture.

Annontoyo expressed her gratitude for the great hospitality of the people behind the program and event.

“We are grateful to meet you and have this opportunity,” she said.

The said exchange program aims to provide benefits for the participants and to the school by creating a bridge for understanding, learning mutual respect, and the exchange of culture.

Josie G. Cruzada, Head Teacher II, concluded the program as she also expressed her warmest welcome to Anggistia Malya Putri and Chelsea Malva Annontoyo. With a hope they would have an incredible journey as Pre-Service Teacher and as a SEA Exchange Student Teacher.

| St. Joseph Husband of Mary Mission Station conducted a career guidance at Estefania Montemayor National High School on February 3, 2025. The said activity was attended by Grade 10 and Grade 12 Male Learners; this is to awaken and ignite the aspiring learners to enter the vocation of becoming a priest.

-Impaired Para Athletes were once again seasons best as they sprint their speed and release their strength in the Para Games Athletics, Capiz Provincial Meet 2025 held at Villareal Stadium, Roxas City, Capiz.

Perez dominated the Para Games Athletics, securing golds in shotput, long jump, and the 100-meter dash under Youth Girls Category. While, Pamplona supreme under the Juniors Category-Girls snatching gold in shot put, silver in 100-meter dash, and bronze in long jump, together with their coach, Esther Marie Ladines-Gayoso.

Other than Perez and Pamplona, two other Para Athletes in the boys category, from different schools bagged medals.

R.J P. Dumagpi in Youth Category- Boys secured gold in the 100-meter dash, silver in 200-meter dash, and silver in long jump. Also, Christian P. Dumagpi under Juniors Category Boys snatched silver in long jump, and bronze in the 100 and 400-meter dash, with the help of their coach, Kristine C. Caldeo.

Perez, Pamplona, and R.J P. Dumagpi are qualified set to compete in the forthcoming Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) held at Antique on March 1-8, 2025 under the guidance of Coach Esther Marie Gayuso.

| Nagsagawa ang Mataas na Paaralang Nasyonal ng Estefania Montemayor (EMNHS) ng unang buwanang misa ngayong taong 2025, ika-31 ng Enero, alas-8:30 ng umaga, na ginanap sa school covered gym. Ang misa ay pinangunahan ni Fr. Glemil Jan G. Albania na naghatid ng isang nakakaantig at makabuluhang homiliya.

Ang misa ay nagsilbing repleksyion ng pagninilay at pagpapalakas ng pananampalataya ng mga mag-aaral at kawani ng paaralan.

This is evident at Estefania Montemayor National High School, where Dr. Ricardo's leadership has helped the school thrive. Dr. Ricardo's approach begins with a clear vision of academic success for all students, grounded in high standards. He then works to create a climate that is conducive to education, ensuring safety, fostering a cooperative spirit, and establishing the foundations for productive interaction. A key aspect of Dr. Ricardo's success is his ability to cultivate leadership in others. He empowers teachers and other staff to take on active roles in realizing the school's vision, thereby harnessing the collective expertise and commitment of the entire educational community. He places a strong emphasis on improving instruction. He supports teachers in developing their pedagogical skills, enabling them to teach at their best and, in turn, allowing students to learn at their utmost potential. His leadership is characterized by effective management of people. He leverages this element to foster continuous school improvement, ensuring that the institution adapts and evolves to meet the changing needs of students and the community. Under Dr. Ricardo’s leadership, Estefania Montemayor National High School opened its doors to students who develop strong foundation in the core scientific disciplines, technological concepts and applications, engineering principles and design, as well as advanced mathematical skills – thus the birth of Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) Curriculum Program. Three partylists presented their platforms and battled for their right to be chosen for various SSLG positions last Friday, May 3, during the conduct of the Supreme Secondary Learners Government Santikanay 2024: Grand Rally and Debate. Sigrab Pamantan-on, Renaissance, and Kadampig parties laid their proposed plans and visions to the student body as part of the campaign activities prior to the Piniliay 2024: SSLG Election scheduled on Monday, May 6. The activity further allowed students to make informed decisions about who to vote for in the upcoming election by hearing directly from the candidates about their visions, plans, and promises to the school.
