Glenn Letran Omana, First Councilor for Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte, recently hosted Honorary Consul to Queensland, Sheryll Gabutero and her team during her visit to Mindanao last October 2024. Omaña, a well-respected public servant and businessman in the construction industry, toured Hon. Con. Gabutero and her team showing the region's vibrant community and local projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents including his initiatives such as free transportation for emergencies, supporting community-driven projects, and management of quarry operations in the area.

The visit provided an opportunity for Consul Gabutero to engage with Manukan’s development efforts and understanding the economic and agricultural landscape of Zambonga del Norte. Both parties discussed potential areas for collaboration, including tourism and cultural exchange, with an emphasis on promoting the region’s unique heritage and attractions to the broader international community.

Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas maybe worsened by significant antecedent rainfall.

The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue Heavy Rainfall Warnings, Rainfall/Thunderstorms Advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate.
