The Temptation of Jesus
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.
2 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry.
3 During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”
4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple,
6 and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.”
7 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.”
8 Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 “I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.”
10 “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,
‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.”
11 Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.

Institutionalized in 2017 and celebrated every January, National Bible Month highlights the importance of the Bible in shaping our society. This month, we will also celebrate National Bible Day, National Bible Sunday, and National Bible Week.

The theme for this year is "God's Word: Source of H.O.P.E.," with H.O.P.E. standing for Harmony, Obedience, Peace, and Empowerment. This theme is inspired by Romans 15:4 and Lamentations 3:21-26.

LAMENTATIONS 3:21-26 (GNT)
Yet hope returns when I remember this one thing: The LORD's unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. The LORD is all I have, and so in Him I put my hope. The LORD is good to everyone who trusts in Him, so it is best for us to wait in patience—to wait for Him to save us.

For whatever was written previously was written for our instruction, that by endurance and by the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

In additional to this, and fundamental to our work as a broadcast ministry, is the conviction that Scripture alone is the only infallible authority and the ultimate authority for Christian faith and practice.

As we welcome the new year, let us remember that it’s all about God. He is the beginning and the end, the one who gives true meaning to our lives.

This year, let’s make Christ the center of all our plans and dreams. Trust in Him, thank Him, and serve Him wholeheartedly.
