SPC-SHS INITIATES WORK IMMERSION ORIENTATION

In light of the imminent exposure of Grade 12 learners to various professional industries, San Pedro College - Senior High School (SPC-SHS) spearheaded the Work Immersion Pre-Deployment Orientation, Monday at the campus gymnasium.

Mr. Carmelo Banlasan, the principal of the Senior High School Department began the orientation with his opening remarks, emphasizing that work immersion is not only an academic requirement but also an essential and an opportunity to experience different working environments.

“As John Dewey said, we do not learn from our experiences, we learn by reflecting those experiences,” he quoted as he encouraged students to grab the opportunity throughout their Work Immersion journeys and for parents to recognize the milestone as a guiding force.

The work immersion focal person and senior high school assistant principal, Ma’am Allene Sayas-Tan, outlined the subject’s purpose and gave a glimpse of the upcoming tasks and events that will occur throughout the semester.

Alongside the discussion on the requirements and guidelines, Sayas-Tan introduced the Work Immersion teachers and the 26 companies and offices that will supervise the students as they immerse themselves in the workplace in accordance to the work immersion they applied for last November 15, 2024 to December 15, 2024.

Before the orientation was adjourned, an open forum took place where students, parents and guardians raised their concerns and queries about the upcoming deployment.

As the recognizable scent of a season brushes off our skin in which the crimson hues once more dominate the city, this month of January marks the beginning of the Year of the Snake representing intelligence, resilience and love.

Wood Snakes are considered as the most tenacious among the 12 zodiac animals, renowned for their keen insight and extraordinary intelligence. They can swiftly seize the key points when addressing problems and make prudent decisions.

In a traditional Chinese belief, individuals who were born in the spring and summer of the Snake Year are considered the most powerful, optimistic, meek and submissive.

May this year be bright and magnetic of wealth and recognition, with a steady flow of finances and a thriving career.

Happy Lunar New Year, SPCians!

Given the twice to beat advantage, Purple Alce fought a hard fight dominating the second match with a 55-43 win.
