Apologizing doesn't always mean you’re wrong, and the customer is right, but apologizing does many great things.

When a customer complains, it doesn’t always mean that there was a miss on your part. In this example, the writing on the label is too small for the customer. This might not be the case for others. Notice that I apologized, not for the small font size, but to acknowledge his/her complaint. Although I did not do anything to make the font size bigger, I did solve her problem of not being able to understand what is written on the label. Plus, he/she got acknowledgement for what she brought out.

I saw this post on Upwork the other day. If you're wondering what kind of jobs you can find online, I'm telling you that the possibilities are endless! Don't have an experience? Fine! Some clients hire (and prefer) newbies, especially because they can pay the newbie freelancer less. This is not a lot, but considering you're just at home and don't need to pay for transportation, clothing, etc, this is a good enough offer to pass.

Let’s talk about debt. Some will say that debt is bad — but not all debts are bad. Personally, I have struggled with credit card debt in the past. My debt went up to 30k pesos and with my monthly earnings at the time, I managed to pay only in installments, but I made sure to pay my debt. I immediately closed that account after I paid every peso.

Fast forward to today. I’m still using a credit card, responsibly. I use it for things that I NEED, not things that I WANT. This of course is not limited to credit card use. I use this thinking with any spending. I still buy things that I want, but only if it’s only a fraction of my earnings, and not as often as I did before (like every pay day). I gain rewards points which I then convert to money, which is one of the great things you get from owning a credit card.

I make sure to pay my dues before the due date to avoid fees.

So to summarize, credit cards and debts in general are not bad, if used wisely. Use it to your advantage.

Many people (myself included) tend to procrastinate or overthink their plans, spending too much time discussing their ideas without actually putting them into practice. We have to break free from this pattern by taking the initiative and starting to work on our goals.

Action is the key to progress and success. By taking action, we can begin to make progress towards our goals, learn from our mistakes, and ultimately achieve the outcomes we desire.

What's one thing you have always wanted to do? Take that first step and you'll be surprised that the thing you have been putting off for too long is actually easy to do. Just take that first step.

When I'm washing the dishes, I listen to podcasts on Spotify, or watch a YouTube video, or an IG video from people that I follow.

Doing this does 2 things for me:

1. It turns a boring task into something that's enjoyable, because I enjoy listening to the people that I follow. I love learning new things.
2. It makes me feel productive, because I'm doing 2 things at the same time.

Now you're not limited to only the boring/passive tasks. You can also do this while doing something you enjoy (running, cycling - exercising in general), as long as you're able to multitask.

Try this when you're doing a task that you feel is boring and try to learn something new.

Last week my client asked me to interview 3 aspiring VAs and recommend one to be our new team member. They all gave great answers but ultimately, of course, I had to make a choice.

Since they all gave great answers, the next thing I did was look for red flags in each of them.

VA #1 seemed to look tired and sleepy during the interview. I dug deeper and learned that she's working for 10 hours for another client -- red flag. You won't be as productive as you can for your next client - based on my own experience in the past.

VA #2 is working for 1 client, 10 hours per week. I had to reschedule our meeting 3 times, then when I sent her a message on WhatsApp at 1:30am, she replied at 1:30am the next day -- red flag.

As an interviewee, we should make it easy for our client to do the interview. Remember: they are business owners who want to free up their time, and by always rescheduling, you're wasting their time. Reliability trumps skills. A low-skilled, yet reliable contractor can be trained, because he always shows up.
