Honorable guests, esteemed colleagues, and valued partners,

Good morning to all of you. It is a great honor to stand before you today as we collectively pledge our support to an initiative of utmost importance—the Philippine Plan for Action Nutrition (PPAN 2023-2028). As members of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Pangasinan Chapter, we are deeply committed to using the power of media to champion causes that significantly impact the well-being of our nation.

Kami po ay nagkakaisa sa layuning palaganapin ang tamang impormasyon ukol sa nutrisyon at kalusugan. Ang aming mga programa ay magiging kasangkapan upang maihatid sa bawat tahanan ang mga mahahalagang kaalaman na magpapaigting sa kamalayan ng publiko tungkol sa kahalagahan ng balanseng diyeta, tamang pagkain, at pangangalaga sa kalusugan.

The PPAN is a comprehensive framework aimed at addressing the multifaceted issue of malnutrition in the Philippines. It outlines strategies that range from improving maternal and child health to ensuring food security and promoting healthy lifestyles. The success of this plan hinges not only on the efforts of our government and health sectors but also on the collective action of all stakeholders, including the media.

As broadcasters, we hold a unique position of influence. Every day, a lot of Filipinos turn to us for information, guidance, and inspiration. Our platforms—radio, television, and digital media—reach the farthest corners of our country, touching the lives of individuals across diverse communities. With this reach comes the responsibility to use our voice for the greater good.

The KBP is fully committed to supporting the PPAN through the following suggestions to its members:

1. Awareness Campaigns: We will leverage our platforms to disseminate vital information about nutrition and health. Through engaging and educational content, we can raise awareness about the importance of proper nutrition and the steps families can take to achieve it.

2. Advocacy and Education: Our programs might include segments dedicated to nutrition education. We will feature experts, share success stories, and provide practical advice that listeners and viewers can implement in their daily lives.

3. Community Engagement: Collaborate with local communities to promote nutritional programs and initiatives. By partnering with local health workers and organizations, we can ensure that our message resonates at the grassroots level.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Helps the NNC1 through ROMDA1 track the impact of our initiatives and continuously seek feedback to improve our efforts. By doing so, we ensure that our contributions are effective and aligned with the goals of the PPAN.

5. Policy Support: Use our platforms to advocate for policies that support nutrition and health. By bringing these issues to the forefront of public discourse, we can influence decision-makers and drive systemic change.

The task ahead is challenging, but together, we can make a significant difference. The KBP stands united with the government, health organizations, and all other stakeholders in this noble endeavor. Let us harness the power of media to inform, educate, and inspire our fellow Filipinos towards a healthier, more nourished future.

In closing, I reiterate our commitment to the Philippine Plan for Action Nutrition. Let us move forward with determination and solidarity, knowing that our collective efforts will contribute to a brighter, healthier tomorrow for all.
