𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐌 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝐋𝐂𝐂-𝐃 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬!

On July 19, 2024, the LCC-D Administration, led by Sr. Angelita J. Sagun, OSA, welcomed Grade 7 and Grade 11 students to an orientation seminar held at the school's Audio Visual Room.

Sr. Angelita J. Sagun, OSA, delivered an inspiring welcome address to kick off the seminar. Bro. Ramil Edward V. Cariño then discussed LCC-D's Vision and Mission Statement, emphasizing the school's goals of academic excellence, holistic development, and community service.

Ms. Rowena B. Flores focused on the support services available to students, stressing the importance of mental health and personal well-being. Mr. Franz Bencent A. Bilo, the assistant principal, outlined the academic programs, discussed the school's student handbook, as well as the extracurricular organizations offered at LCC-D, and explained the school's guidelines.

This was followed by a discussion of school rules facilitated by Mr. Aaron A. Saludes, the prefect of discipline, to ensure proper conduct and neatness among the students. The events and activities calendar was also presented to the students by the coordinator of student activities, Mr. Hector A. Alegre, encouraging them to participate actively for their personal and academic growth.

Sr. Cecille D. Obja-an, OSA, the community coordinator/finance, discussed the breakdown of the fees that students need to pay, as well as the Education Service Contracting (ESC) Voucher and the Senior High School Voucher options available to students.

Overall, the orientation provided essential information and resources to help Grade 7 and Grade 11 students succeed and grow on their journey at LCC-D.

The eagerly awaited results for the 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 are finally in! After carefully evaluating writing prowess, creativity, and journalistic integrity, the selected 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲-𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 (𝟑𝟕) 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 have been 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧 to join our esteemed team of 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬.

This year’s screening was successfully concluded on 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒. These brilliant student journalists are taking a stand to 𝐮𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 and 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡, an everlasting standard set for a total of 𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐲-𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 (𝟓𝟒) 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 from different grade levels.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The La Consolacion College of Daet's Baccalaureate Mass commences today, May 14, 2024, at 9:00 in the morning at St. John The Baptist Church.

Most Rev. Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, D.D., the Archbishop of Caceres, presides the eucharistic celebration. The mass is currently being attended by the graduating students, Grades 6, 10, 12, and College, and accompanied by their parents, BED and College faculty and staff, and the school administrators.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐂𝐍 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬| Chariemel Joyce P. Deauna, a feature writer in Filipino, represents the La Consolacion College of Daet and the Division of Camarines Norte in the recently concluded Regional Schools Press Conference at Iriga Central School, Iriga City, held last May 8-11, 2024.

After qualifying for the Division Schools Press Conference, the Associate Editor of La Consolites' Newsette, Ms. Deauna, took the challenge and competed in RSPC. Though she could not make it to NSPC, Ms. Deauna, with her love for writing and desire to improve her journalistic skills, will keep the fire burning and continue her JOURNey.

As one of the most significant traditions of Filipino culture, the La Consolacion College of Daet, Inc. (LCC-) held the Santacruzan parade last May 2, 2024, headed by Mr. Hector A Alegre, Coordinator of Student Activities.

After the parade comes to an end, the LCC-D Community continues to walk into a path of gratefulness as we give thanks to the following queens who participated in the event:

The proceeds of their contribution are used for the installation of 8 Air Conditioning Units 4HP Tunner type, 200 Monoblock Chairs, 8 Window type Air Conditioning Units 2.5HP, 1 Double Swing Door with Fixed Glass, and 1 Set 2 Sliding Panels in LCC-D's Function Hall, the St. Ambrose Hall.

Through their help in the installation of these units for the improvement of St. Ambrose Hall, may they continue to instill their greatest role as Consolite queens — to be of service for humanity.

In celebration of the 104th Founding Anniversary of Camarines Norte and the 20th Bantayog Festival, an opening parade commenced in the Camarines Norte Provincial Capitol with the route going around the town of Daet on April 16, 2024.

Many schools, institutions and organizations attended, the LCC-D Marching Unit (CAT, Drum and Bugle Corps, and Twirlers) included. The Marching Unit was led by the Head of the Unit, Mr. Aaron Saludes. As well as the support from the Auxiliary Unit formed by the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council - Life Support Team (SDRRMC-LST) headed by the moderator, Mr. John Emmanuel Y. Napa, Ms. Michelle Villa, the Cadres’ and other supportive faculty members.

The La Consolacion College of Daet, Inc. practiced an institution-wide Earthquake Drill last April 12, 2024 in the campus quadrangle.

This was led by the Head of Communications, Ms. Michelle Y. Villa, the Head of First Aid, Mrs. Viriginia Pasatiempo, the school nurse, Ma’am Lovely Pentecostes, and the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council - Life Support Team (SDDRMC-LST) moderator, Mr. John Emmanuel Y. Napa.

During the drill, search-and-rescue operations were conducted by the selected faculty members as the Search and Rescue Team, while the SDRRMC-LST Officers were in charge of the triage with the first year nursing students.

‘𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐖𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬’ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐁𝐞𝐞

Nine students from La Consolacion College of Daet, Inc. (LCC-D) showed how their promising minds contributed to the future of biology as they took part in the highly anticipated 1st Regional Biology Quiz Bee last April 13, 2024, with the University of Nueva Caceres as its host. Ninety-eight teams across Bicol Region joined this prestigious competition, each yearning for the glory of victory and recognition.

The three teams, composed of Senior High School students who represented LCC-D and whose brilliance added to the luster of the event, were:

These consolites studied hard and instilled a mindset that even if they were first-timers, just by being firm on their goal of representing LCC-D with pride and honor, they still had a chance of winning.

Quibral, from his post on Facebook.

𝐴𝑙𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑚𝑠 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑛, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑦 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑢𝑠,” Mary Faith Ara Pantalla, one of the participants, posted on her Facebook account, showing her gratitude to their coach, Mr. Christopher E. Bacurin.

Regardless of the pressure brought by the list of coaches full of seasoned ones, Mr. Christopher E. Bacurin and Mrs. Virginia D. Pasatiempo’s determination to nourish the promising young minds of the participants persevered throughout the event, starting from the preparation up until the competition proper.

As the event wrapped up, a promise hung in the air — a promise of more stimulating intellectual contests enriching the future. Bicolanos’ exceptional performance, brought to the table by all participants, sent out a resounding message: the future of biology in the region is indeed in capable hands.

Tuwing ika-9 ng Abril, ipinagdiriwang natin ang Araw ng Kagitingan dito sa Pilipinas. Ito ay isang espesyal na araw upang gunitain at bigyang pugay ang ating mga bayani na nagbuwis ng buhay para sa kalayaan at karangalan para sa bansa.

Ang araw na ito ay isang pagkakataon upang ating pagnilayan ang mga mabibigat na pagsubok sa digmaan na pinagdaanan ng ating mga bayani. Sa panahon ngayon, mahalagang maipamalas natin ang ating kagitingan sa pamamagitan ng pagkilala at pagbibigay halaga sa mga aral at sakripisyo ng ating mga ninunong inialay ang kanilang buhay para sa Pilipinas.

Sa araw na ito, sana'y lahat tayo ay makapag-alay ng panalangin at pagpupugay sa mga bayani ng ating minamahal na bayan.

Bicolanos are now fanning themselves or switching their aircon on to cool down in the scorching heat of the Philippines. Since March 29, we have been experiencing an increase in the heat index of Daet, Camarines Norte, which started at 41°C, with 42°C on March 31 as the highest heat index recorded. Given this condition, we must protect ourselves and stay cool by following these reminders!

Easter Sunday, also known as Resurrection Sunday, is a day when we commemorate the resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, with utmost joy and hope.

On the day Jesus rises from the dead, a beaming clear light replaces the pitch-dark sky, and everlasting happiness replaces the cries of sorrow, symbolizing triumph over sin.

This day signifies the fulfillment of God's plans for redemption, the forgiveness of humanity’s sins.

The salvation we acquire comes with a great price, which is His suffering, thus making this day more significant and remarkable. As we reflect and see how He sacrificed Himself for us, we must commemorate the essence of His resurrection today by being good shepherds, much like how He exemplified selflessness this holy week.

Christ has risen, heaven is shining, and the people are rejoicing—for they can spend eternity in everlasting love and joy with God.

May we embrace this day with grace and continue to live a Christ-centered life full of gratitude and abundance. Let’s not forget to reflect and remember everything He did for us and, together, let us share His undying love for the world!

On Black Saturday, the seventh and final day of Holy Week, the body of Jesus Christ was laid in the tomb.

The day originates from the Jewish tradition of the Sabbath and is observed from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday.

The Easter Vigil (held on this day after dusk) is one of the most significant celebrations of Holy Saturday. This service comprises a two-part liturgy—first, a liturgy recalling the vigil, or “keeping watch,” of Jesus’ female disciples at his tomb, followed by the joyful celebration of the first Eucharist of Easter.

As the Triduum of Holy Week concludes, let us remember that today is not just a day meant to mourn Jesus Christ's death and prepare for His resurrection but is also a time for introspection and self-reflection.

𝗕𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆'𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘀.

Good Friday serves as a reminder of Jesus Christ's ultimate act of love and sacrifice for humanity. As the solemnity of Good Friday descends upon us, we are drawn to reflect on the profound significance of this sacred day in the Christian calendar.

“𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴. 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘏𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦.” - Philippians 2:8-9

"𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘶𝘱 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘦; 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦." - Luke 22:42

Maundy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, during which He established the Eucharist, priesthood and the washing of the feet of the twelve apostles.

Today marks the beginning of the Easter Triduum, the three days of solemn worship in preparation for Christ's Resurrection from the dead.

Maundy Thursday signifies the importance of humility which Jesus set as he washed the feet of the apostles. It is a symbol of calling to follow His lead and live a life of service to others. Maundy Thursday reminds us of Jesus’ words of the commandment of faith, "𝘈 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶: 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳. 𝘈𝘴 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘴𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.”

This Holy Thursday, may we be reminded and recognize God’s unfailing gift of undeserved, unconditional, and unifying love for us. May we take His example of living life with love and humility.

"𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶?" - Matthew 26:15

Holy Wednesday, was the day when Judas met with the Jewish leaders and was paid 30 pieces of silver to betray Jesus.

One of the twelve disciples, Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and asked, “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶?” They counted out thirty silver coins and gave them to him. From then on, Judas was looking for a good chance to hand Jesus over to them.

Judas' betrayal led to Jesus' arrest, torture, and crucifixion. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon him, went forward and said to them, “𝘞𝘩𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨?” Jesus didn't wait for Judas to come to him in his act of betrayal.

As we witness the beginning of Jesus' suffering, let us reflect and remember the life lessons Christ taught us to strengthen our trust in him.

“𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘔𝘦”– John 13:21-38.

Holy Tuesday, the day Jesus foretells the different woes he will face in the upcoming days, including the betrayal of one of the 12 apostles.

It was on Tuesday morning when Jesus and his disciples returned to Jerusalem after staying in Bethany the previous night. On their way, they passed the withered fig tree, and Jesus spoke to his companions about the importance of faith.

On the same day, Jesus left the city and went with his apostles to the Mount of Olives, where the prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the age was given.

As the days of Holy Week pass, let us remember what Jesus shared before his death. May these lessons strengthen our faith in Christ.

“𝘡𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦 𝘮𝘦”- John 2:17

Holy Monday is the second day of Holy Week, right after the Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion.

According to tradition, this is the day Jesus cursed the fig tree until it withered, symbolizing Israel in its fruitlessness and also cleansing the temple, as a sign of his divine authority and righteous anger as he drove out the merchants and money changers.

Meanwhile, this solemn day also holds the event on which Mary anoints Jesus’ feet with oil and wipes it with her hair, representing a gesture of genuine love and humility before God.

As we begin our journey this Holy Week, let us reflect and meditate on the events that brought about our salvation and embrace the blessing of this gift.
