Karkata was created by Abattouy to prove mechanical beings could achieve true life. After the Akademiya banned such studies, Abattouy continued his research in exile, teaching Karkata basic tasks and self-repair. To sustain his work, he built Ley Line extractors, but overuse led to his deathโan event Karkata helplessly witnessed.
Desperate to "fix" its creator, Karkata scavenged mechanical parts, while the extractors attracted Ruin Sentinels, creating a contaminated zone. The Traveler and Tighnari investigated, uncovering Karkataโs tragic efforts. Neglecting itself in its devotion, Karkata finally shut down beside Abattouy.
