Cebu Pacific recently announced a new flight route on social media, connecting Iloilo International Airport to Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok (vice versa). This new route begins March 31, 2025, with a 10:30 PM departure. The flight duration is approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes. Initial airfare starts at around Php 2,200 to 2,800+.

More destinations from Iloilo with direct flight via Cebu Pacific Air !

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines' leading airline, flew over 𝟭.𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 to and from Iloilo in 2024, solidifying its position as the carrier with the 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 in the city. With 𝟭𝟰 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 (12 domestic and 2 international), the airline has significantly expanded operations at Iloilo International Airport.

In January 2025, 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝟴𝟰% (from 136,000 to nearly 250,000), while 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 (from 826 to 1,293). This expansion supports CEB’s goal of making travel more accessible, particularly for passengers in the Visayas region.

Beginning March 30, 2025 some Philippine Airlines - PAL express and Cebu Pacific flights utilizing turboprop aircraft (Bombardier Q400 & ATR) will transfer from NAIA to Clark International Airport and other secondary airports as part of NAIA's optimization plan.

This move however is expected to affect over 5 million passengers flying to destinations serviced by turboprops of DG, 2R & 2P.

Some key takeaways from today's media briefing from Cebu Pacific Air :

1. Masbate and Siargao flights from Manila will move to Clark beginning March 30, 2025. From this date onwards, wala nang Manila-Siargao-Manila. Take note, tourists. 😊

If you have already bought tickets to these destinations and do not wish to proceed, Cebu Pacific is offering flexible options, including rebooking and full refunds.

2. Direct services from Manila to Surigao will be cancelled also from 30th March. Passengers to Surigao are advised to connect via Cebu after this date.

3. Eventually all flights at NAIA that are operated using turborop planes will be transferred to Clark. This will aid in decongesting NAIA.

For some of the existing routes from Manila that stil utilize turboprop planes, Ceb will begin utilising jets to avoid being diverted into Clark.

4. Also beginning 30th March, Cebu Pacific will start commencing flights from Clark to El Nido and to Coron. These will be daily services. (I hope to fly this one this year!!)

5. With the addition of 4 new routes in Clark, Cebu Pacific is now the largest airline operator in Clark with 15 destinations, 4 of them intetnational (Bangkok, Tokyo, HK and Singapore).

6. There will be no specific Cebu Pacific shuttle buses (free or otherwise) that will operate from NAIA to Clark and vv and the public is encouraged to use the existing (paid) P2P buses between the terminals. P2P buses also operate from Trinoma to Clark. Schedules are available online.

Personally, I feel the trend for the next couple of years will be towards the increased utilisation of Clark airport. Punong puno na kasi talaga ang NAIA.

These days, it's very easy even for foreigners and relatives living abroad who wish to visit the Philippine provinces and bypass Manila to connect via Clark

🎙️ “Chinese New Year is one of the busiest times in Hong Kong. With this in mind, the MTR will boost its train services from January 24-February 4, 2025 to cope with the expected increase in passenger traffic during this time. The enhancements include overnight services on Lunar New Year’s Eve (January 28) and more than 1,600 extra trips during the holiday season to allow passengers to head to events like the fireworks show at Victoria Harbour.”
