School of Teacher Education marked a meaningful milestone as it hosted its 10th Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony for pre-service teachers. The event formally welcomed fourth-year college students into the next phase of their journey to become educators, tasked with shaping the next generation of learners, this 10th of December, 2025 at the schoolโs covered court.
This ceremony centered on the celebration of dedication, purpose, and the noble calling of teaching, with a program that began with the pre-service teachers marching alongside their loved ones, followed by the entrance of the College Executive Dean, Dr. Lylani S. Claro together with the School of Teacher Education's Dean, Dr. Agnes T. Taguines. Next in line are the supportive supervisors and faculty members. CHCCI's criminology students officially began the ceremony with the entrance of colors, followed by a solemn prayer from the BEEd Vice President of Student-Teacher Organization, Ms. Micaela Pauline R. Magpantay. Ms. Kyle Zhakiah L. Nogoy, BSEd Vice President of Student-Teacher Organization then led the school in the singing of the national anthem and CHCCI Hymn.
A heartwarming speech was then delivered by Dr. Claro sharing warm and intentional remarks with everyone in attendance. โTo our proud parents, families, friends โ thank you for joining us today. Your presence is a testament to the unwavering support that has been given to our future educators throughout their academic journey,โ she opened, turning first to the loved ones who had supported the candidates through their studies. She then addressed the pre-service teachers directly: "Most especially to our dear candidates, congratulations. I just so hope na 100% yung number niyo ngayon sa magjo-join sa graduation on April 30, 2026."
Dr. Claro framed the day as more than a symbolic event, adding, โtoday marks an important milestone in your path toward becoming a professional educator. This ceremony is not merely symbolic; it signifies the readiness to step beyond the walls of the classroom and into the real world of teaching, where patience, compassion, creativity, and integrity are fully encompassing every single day.โ
She then closed her remarks with a reminder of their purpose and a message of gratitude: โMay today's ceremony remind you of the purpose you carry, the people who believe in you, especially the proud parents. Welcome to this special celebration, congratulations to all our pinning candidates. May this ceremony be the beginning of accomplishment. Mula sa puso ng buong Concepcion Holy Cross college, dakal pung salamat kekayu ngan.โ
Among the participating fourth-year students are:
โข 85 students from the Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in General Education
โข 75 students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English
โข 41 students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino
โข 11 students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics
โข 25 students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Social Studies
Meanwhile, during an interview with the newly pinned student-teachers, they expressed excitement, happiness, and fulfillment as they reach this moment of their life. They also shared their expectations as they head to their new journey as interns of different schools.

Mr. Victor Bulacso, President of the Student-Teacher Organization, lead the pledge where the student teachers vowed to fulfill their roles in shaping the new generationsโ minds and lives and as the candle was lit in the candle lighting actvity, a new light of hope had emergedโa hope for a brighter future. Then, they sang a heart-warming song entitled "Everything I Own" by Bread. While singing, the officially pinned student teachers head to their loved ones to give the rose as a sign of gratitude.
Dr. Taguines brought the program to a close as she delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to parents, partner institutions, and faculty, while encouraging pre-service teachers to uphold their values and face future challenges with confidence.
"With that statement, push hard for the best for all of us. I am thankful to our dear parents for their care, love, and entrusting their children's education to this institutionโmaraming salamat po. Thanks also to our partner institutions, principals, Sir Dennis, and Ma'am Saludo for guiding our students in their experiential teaching; to faculty and supervisors for sharing knowledge and pedagogy; and to our pre-service teachers and student interns, now in the last phase of your academic journey at CHCCI. You will demonstrate strategies learned in class, accept responsibilities as effective teachers with compassion and commitment for holistic development, uphold core values, make your parents and your school proud, face challenges without giving up, and always give your bestโkaya natin! Maraming salamat po."
