This remarkable study was authored by our brilliant BTLED IV students, Mylene M. Quinto, Ivy Rose S. Galozo, and Marisue Abendanio, under the guidance of their Thesis Adviser, Prof. Cyril John C. Nagal, the Department Head.

𝐀𝐠𝐄𝐃 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐎𝐧-𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

𝗔𝗚𝗚𝗜𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗭𝗘𝗥 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 | The Agricultural Education Unit of the College of Agriculture - University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Claveria hosted the On-Campus Teaching Internship Exit Conference 2024, today, April 3 at the CA Smart Room. The event marked a significant milestone for ten (10) fourth-year Practice Teachers pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majoring in Agricultural Education.

Under the leadership of Internship Supervisor Ms. Marinella C. Nagal, LPT, and Agricultural Education Coordinator Ms. Jackielyn U. Abao, LPT, MAED, the Practice Teachers presented their experiences and reflections on their On-Campus Training. The conference was attended by esteemed USTP Claveria Cooperating Teachers from various departments.

Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Argin A. Gulanes, Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services; Prof. Ramil C. Pagon, Director of Arts and Culture; and Cooperating Teachers from the College of Arts and Sciences, including Ms. Marydil Gayloa, LPT, Mr. Melchor T. Allado, LPT, and Ms. Myca Jean Labastida, LPT. Representing the College of Agriculture were Mr. Cyril John C. Nagal, LPT, MSc, Director of the Admission and Scholarship Office, along with Ms. Gia L. Cuizon, LPT, Mr. Jan Brylle Galarion, RA, MSc, and Mr. Paul Nino Icalina, RA.

The conference served as the culmination of the Practice Teachers' journey in their On-Campus Training, providing them with valuable insights and feedback before embarking on their Off-Campus Internship at Mat-I National High School. This final academic requirement for the program, facilitated through the course AgED 429 (Practice Teaching), will serve as a pivotal steppingstone for their future careers in agricultural education.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to all those involved in facilitating the Practice Teachers' learning journey, emphasizing the collaborative effort between the university and the cooperating institutions. As the Practice Teachers prepare to transition to their Off-Campus Internship, they carry with them the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during their time at USTP Claveria, ready to make a positive impact in the field of agricultural education. .ED

REBIRTH | Honing the journalistic skills of the aspiring scribes of the campus, the PRESSCamp 2023 signified the revival of the student publication of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) - Claveria.

The 3-day Summer Journalism Camp trained 23 writers and artists from the various colleges on the core campus media fields presented by competent school publication experts.

With the utmost support by the Office of the Student Affairs and Services, the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the working committees composed of the university faculty, staff and students.

At the onset of the transformed era in the USTP Claveria Student Press, among the main targets of this ‘comeback’ is the crafting of its new name along with the creation of its empowered Editorial Board which will be presented to the public this week.

Mr. John Samuel J. Yap, our Day 3 Speaker hails from the national media. He is a Bachelor of Science in Development Communication graduate from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

He was the former Editor-in-Chief of Assortedge, a national media organization specializing in contextual reporting and explanatory journalism. Currently, he is the Designer for Digital Content Distribution of the INQUIRER.net.

PRESSCAMP UPDATE| Providing the campers a panoramic vista of the power of journalism in bringing societal change, the 2nd day of the PRESSCAMP 2023 presented the lecture-workshop on Column Writing and Editing and Proofreading. Ms. Cherry Meh Vanguardia of the Dr. Gerardo Sabal Memorial National High School and Mr. Arnel S. Travero of the College of Arts and Sciences spearheaded the said sessions respectively.

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 & 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐊𝐈𝐂𝐊-𝐎𝐅𝐅 | Championing holistic wellbeing of the trailblazers, the USTP Claveria commenced its Health and Wellness Week 2023 featuring an exuberant opening ceremony and a grand parade that weaved through the vibrant streets of Poblacion, Claveria, Misamis Oriental, yesterday, May 29. Led by the esteemed University Chancellor, Dr. Renato O. Arazo, the event brought together the campus workforce, key officials, faculty, staff, and enthusiastic students from various units.

The student units, namely Unit 1: Green Demetrians, Unit 2: Blazing Phoenix, and Unit 3: Fighting Maroons, added to the festive atmosphere with their spirited yells and cheers. As the team looped its way through the town, the crowd was treated to an array of colorful banners, lively music, and inspiring enthusiasm.

Day 1 of the Health and Wellness Week witnessed two remarkable highlights: the much-anticipated Mr. and Ms. Wellness 2023 pageant and a series of thrilling sport events. The pageant showcased the poise, talent, and charisma of the participants, who captivated the audience with their elegance and charm. Meanwhile, the sport events offered an avenue for students and faculty alike to showcase their athletic prowess, fostering a sense of healthy competition and camaraderie.

With the opening ceremony setting the tone for an eventful week, the USTP Claveria Health and Wellness Week 2023 promises to be a celebration of holistic well-being, promoting physical fitness, mental health, and overall wellness among the university community.

USTP-Claveria Teachers' Day Celebration || October 10, 2022

"The transformation of education begins with teachers" so sayeth the theme for this year's world teachers' month.
As the entirety of USTP- Claveria celebrated the month dedicated to educators, the University of Student Government, together with the student leaders from the different organizations, surprised the institution's educators with the program they prepared which happened shortly after the Monday convocation. The said activity started at exactly 9:12 in the morning and was opened by Mr. Jerom Marianas and Ms. Rhea Listahan as the active host of the program. A total of six exciting games were prepared for all the teaching and non-teaching staff to enjoy wherein the mechanics tasked them to collect 3 tickets for them to claim a special prize. The USTP-Claveria educators vied to get the first 24 slots of the game session. Each of them showed competitiveness reflecting their great passion as an educator. It was then followed by the giving of certificates and tokens for the USG advisers as well as the giving of awards for the winners of the games.
The event was then concluded with the serenade given by the selected student leaders led by Mr. Degelord Serahan simultaneously with the giving of bouquets for the beloved educators of USTP-Claveria. The activity was successfully done despite the challenge presented by the lack of electricity during the program which proved to be a great hindrance to the proceedings. Fortunately, the event still concluded with a bang as officers of different organizations and the studentry, in general, gave their prepared tokens of gratitude for their dear instructors during the serenade.
Once again Happy Teachers' Day to all educators in USTP-Claveria. Kudos to you all!

Miting de Avance and USG Election|| September 15,2022 and September 16,2022
The aspiring Student leaders, in cooperation with the outgoing officers and USG adviser, held the Miting de Avance on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the university student center. The event started at exactly 9:00 in the morning and was composed of three parts: the platform presentation of each party, the question and answer portion which served as an open forum for the event, and lastly the presidential debate. The two running parties for the illustrious USG organization were the Empowered Leaders for Integrity, Transparency, and Equality(ELITE) Party, and Agile, Brave, Authentic, Nurturing Trailblazers, Equality(ABANTE) Party both have banner platforms which they proudly presented during the event. Both parties were only given 10 minutes for their platform presentation and exactly 1 minute for answering questions and rebuttals. During the open forum session, questions from the students who attended were catered to and answered by the aspirant USG officers. The most daring and sensitive question was addressed to the running presidents of both parties. "If the goal of this institution is to promote democracy and freedom, what will be your resolve regarding our dress code and proper haircut imposed by the University? and how and what will be your resolution with regards to this matter in promoting equal rights of the students? " The said question was directly answered by the running presidents with conviction and clarity of their stand with regards to the sensitive matter raised. After the open forum, the presidential debate then followed and concluded with the final campaign speech of each individual of both parties. The next day, September 16, 2022 was the most awaited election day not just for the running parties but also for the whole student community of USTP-Claveria for the result of the said election will be marked as the turning point of the future of the life of the studentry under the new administration. Will it be as bright and interesting as what the aspirant leaders promised or the opposite will transpire? The result of the election will be announced this Monday, September 19, 2022.

SOLID TURNOUT FOR THE SECOND TIME MEN'S VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS AS MORE THAN TWENTY (20) PLAYERS ATTEND

MISAMIS ORIENTAL, Philippines—The tryout for the men's volleyball team was successfully held at the USTP Claveria volleyball court, September 10, 2022 (Saturday).

More than twenty (20) players participated in the tryout today, geared towards assembling a formidable volleyball team for the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Games 2022 later this year.

In the tryout, the players were divided to team up where they got to showcase what they can do on the court to be considered for a spot in the varsity squad.

A number of aspiring volleyball student-athletes of USTP Claveria were observed and evaluated by coach, Prof. Ramil C. Pagon as part of the selection for the upcoming MASTS Games 2022.

In a short interview, the varsity team coach Ramil said that all of the players at this time are new.

He emphasized that the try out was successfully conducted which participated by more than twenty (20) students.

As per evaluation, five (5) were chosen to be part of the varsity team namely: Arthur H. Folminar Jr., Fe Atacador, Jason Antipunan Fabela, Johnrey Pedoche, Kurt Jeb Malinao and Mario Jabien Bangcoyo.

"This team shall prepare for the MASTS Sports Competition," coach Ramil said.

As the step in honing the volleyball team, coach Ramil is also looking forward to his players for more improvements.

"Primarily, they should improve on reception. That's basic of volleyball. Also, they should improve their endurance, agility and consistency. My advice is to commit to the team. If there's commitment, everything else follows," coach Ramil added.

On the other hand, as announced by the team coach in an interview, the MASTS will slate this coming November 6-11, 2022 at Davao Oriental State University, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

We are thrilled to witness our applicants for showing us their best as the team has officially finalized list of players who will represent USTP Claveria in the MASTS. May the odds ever be in your favor as we foster sportsmanship and unity for a stronger volleyball community.

6th Charter Day Celebration||

The USTP Claveria student leaders showcased their talent, wit, and unyielding dedication as they participated in the 6th Charter Day celebration held at USTP Cagayan de Oro Campus on August 19, 2022.
This charter day celebration with the theme "USTP: Reframing the future" promotes the harmony and union of all USTP campuses which will then capacitate a whole new version of one USTP system.
Student leaders of Claveria campus opted to take on the challenge and were able to rise up as the winner of the chant competition with the remarkable chant they prepared. They also proudly represented the banner program of Claveria campus through their astonishing barn dance performance which the audience watched with enthusiasm and awe. Following their victory in the chant competition, they also garnered second place in the vlog-making competition despite the limited time given to them. Not only did they prove that they were flexible and competent, but as student leaders, they most especially served as the mirror and the representation of the whole studentry of Claveria Campus. Kudos to all of them, and their effort in upholding and bringing the banner of USTP Claveria Campus!

The Trailblazing Leaders Camp 2022: Lead, Learn, and Serve on it's third and last day molding student leaders to their utmost abilities and competencies.

The third day session began with some fun games led by Dr. Dixon Yasay who also spearheaded the Leadership Orientation Seminar. Various exercises were done by the participants manifesting the abilities, values, and competencies of a student leader simultaneously with the breakout session through Zoom hosted by Mr. Floreto Quinito Jr., OSA Director of USTP CDO, attended by student leaders who were not able to personally join the camp.

Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Chancellor of USTP Claveria, then gave his opening speech for the closing program of the camp during its continuation in the afternoon. Dr. Alexander L. Ido, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of USTP Claveria, presented himself at the program as well. Certificates were given to the directors, working committee, marshals, and participants recognizing them for the success of the event. The leadership camp reached its conclusion with the participants and all other attendees enjoying the videos containing all their documented activities during the three days followed by the unity dance.

The successful three-day camp greatly molded the student leaders to be the best version reflecting the unnegotiable attributes a student leader should have.
