Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu is filled with thousands of devotees who have gathered to attend the first Novena Mass for the 460th Fiesta Señor Celebration and the Sinulog Festival, January 9, 2025.

Even before sunrise, attendees had already immersed themselves in the Opening Salvo of the celebration by participating in the penitential "Walk with Jesus." This act of faith honors and highlights the Cebuano culture and its deeply rooted devotion.

Maroon Election season officially kicks off with the first day of the filing of Certificates of Candidacy on January 9, 2025, facilitated by the SWU Commission on Elections at the Comelec Office, West Campus.

In hopes of preserving the established, and shaping for the better, the future of student campus governance, aspirants exercise their right to run for office, proving a university of pronounced political expression.

The said filing is set to conclude on January 20, 2025.

EARLIER: Aspiring student-leaders officially file their certificates of candidacy for key electoral positions, signaling the start of the Maroon Elections 2025 at the Comelec Office, West Campus.

Potential candidates vying for various leadership positions have until January 20, 2025, to submit their applications in accordance with the electoral process. This critical period will allow candidates to formally declare their intention to run and outline their platforms to the student body.

Election day is set on March 21, 2025, marking a significant moment for Cobras to exercise their right to vote.
