PAGASA ENSO Alert System Status
Cool El Niรฑo Southern Oscillation (ENSO)-neutral conditions persist over most of the tropical Pacific Ocean. The majority of climate models combined with expert judgments favored a 71% chance of short-lived La Niรฑa or La Niรฑa-like conditions developing within the November-December-January period and may continue until the first quarter of 2025. La Niรฑa or La Niรฑa-like condition increases the likelihood of having above-normal rainfall conditions, which could lead to potential adverse impacts such as heavy rainfall, floods, flash floods, and rain-induced landslides over highly vulnerable areas.

Tropical Weather Outlook: 30 November 2024
There are no tropical cyclones.
Tropical areas of interest:
Area A (northeast of Samar): A weak area of low pressure located northeast of Samar is interacting with a shear line and producing widespread disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is no longer suspect for tropical cyclone formation due to extremely hostile upper-level winds. However, it could cause areas of heavy rainfall over portions of the Philippines, mainly the Bicol Region and points to the south and east. This rainfall could cause flooding. For further information on this system, refer to products from your local weather office. Formation chance through 7 days: VERY LOW - 0%
Area B (west of the Marshall Islands): Another low pressure area embedded within an ITCZ just west of the Marshall Islands is producing limited shower activity. Strong upper-level winds and dry air will likely limit significant development of this system as it moves quickly westward during the next few days. By midweek, even stronger upper-level winds will likely end the system's development chances. Formation chance through 7 days: LOW - 10%
Non-tropical marine warnings (south of 30ยฐN):
None.
