“Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria” (Creative Programs, Inc., Panumduman Pictures) is set on Olango Island off Mactan in Cebu province. Directed by Cebuano Remton Siega Zuasola, the movie documents the last hours of a Filipina (the Eleuteria in the title) as she prepares to leave her island hometown to get married in Germany. Technically audacious, it unfolds its tale in one single sweeping shot; the mise en scène hardly falters, impressing the viewer with its faithful unfolding of a small life that embodies the Filipino diaspora.

Thirteen years ago, these boys came across a mountain. The mountain was a steep climb and the path was treacherous. The peaks were covered with clouds that loomed dark and climbing it was a big risk.

But their passion was bigger than all their fears. In fact, as they went on, they started to forge their own path and along the way, they met many people who possessed the same fire. These people helped make the path wider, their footsteps made the road smoother and their laughter and tears made the journey more bearable. It has been a swell climb up with plenty of risks and plenty of rests. But each hungry but steady step made them all fuller and each step marked a path that now many others can take for themselves and follow.

It has been thirteen years since 8thumbs was born and we would like to share this moment with everyone who has been with us in this journey. The peak is still far but we will all get to the top someday, together.

Brian Sacro has since been integral to Musika Cebu. With his unparalleled skills in sound mixing and music, it is safe to say that Musika Cebu is Brian Sacro. Without him, this music show would not have been as good.

From its conception until the day we decided to take a break, you were with us. And at the center of our hopes to revive the show is you and your talents. Today, that hope becomes a memory.
