Biblical guide to effective Prayer

“How do I learn to pray?"

His answer is refreshingly simple:
You do it. And you fill your heart with Scripture.

Just like you learn to ride a bike by riding, you learn to pray by praying. But this isn’t blind emotion or ritual—it’s about shaping your mind with the Word of God, so that as you speak to God, you do so with a renewed heart and biblically informed thoughts.

Washer points to the Psalms, the letters of Paul, the high priestly prayer of Jesus in John 17. He says:
Read.
Meditate.
Practice.
That’s how your prayers stop being empty—and start sounding like the Bible.

How do you know the Spirit's desires/wants? Does knowing come thru the Spirit's inner prompting; a tug in the heart❤? maybe... but,

√ But if walking by the Spirit is to be the pattern in life, Scripture should be our primary guide (read Jer 31:33; Heb 8:10).*

Gospel truth: Know & Obey Scripture. This should be the pattern of our life as we yield to the Spirit's control & power.
