We're excited to announce a potential collaboration with the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) Region VII!

Our project, The Cebu Almanac 2024: Rapid Urbanization in Cebu, to be released next year, aims to shed light on the challenges and opportunities facing our city in the context of urban growth. By collaborating with PCUP, we hope to leverage their expertise and data to create a comprehensive and informative resource.

Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of the urban poor and contribute to the sustainable development of Cebu.

Awarded by the National Book Development Board and the Manila Critics' Circle as Best Anthology in Binisaya during the 41st National Book Awards, Sinug-Ang: A Cebuano Trio displays different experiences showcasing the great breadth of the authors’ lives as they trace the intersections of language, power, and class. Reflecting the complexity and diversity of contemporary Cebuano poetry by women, the poems presented are explosive and sensuous, meditative and inventive, sometimes ironic and tender.

THE RESIL MOJARES READER contains twelve articles on Cebu selected from the writings of "Cebu's foremost scholar", Resil B. Mojares. Written between 1976 and 2012, the articles range from a variety of topics including Cebuano notions of personhood, space and 'world', the historical formation of rural and metropolitan communities in Cebu, the symbolic dynamics of early Cebuano fiction, and the politics of nationalism as it played out in local controversies in the early twentieth-century over U.S. economic dominance, the Cebuano migration to Hawaii, and the political career of Sergio OsmeΓ±a.

Scholarly but accessible, the essays in this volume should interest Cebuanos as well as students in history, literature, political science, urban studies, and anthropology.
