Bashing is prevalent on social media, especially concerning how toxic it is. But why do people bash? Is it jealousy? Just for fun? Can't accept, or won't accept facts? They don't understand the topic? Or do they think they know it all?

But sometimes, being bashed might also be your fault. That's why you should consider who your audience is and how you behave on social media.

Being criticized is inevitable, especially if you really did something wrong. The first thing to do is to own up to that mistake and ensure it won't happen again. It is also important to know how to discern constructive criticism, advice that will help you grow. If there is none, at least know how to turn this bashing into something good. Then delete and block those who only help nothing but to make you feel bad at all.

But you are your own critic. That is why it is important that you know how to constructively criticize yourself. Sometimes, you are not trying to start doing it because you are afraid of being criticized. Just do it as long as it will not harm other people or yourself.

Sometimes, we delay our dreams because we crave perfection instead of continuous progress just because we are afraid of being criticized for our own imperfections. Remember, successful people have no time for belittling others; only those who are less than you will.

So take that board exam. Get that degree. Start that podcast. Start that fitness routine. Time will go on, and your future self will thank you for it. Focus one step at a time, be wise, and be patient. Good luck.
