Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition - Liu Bei, Yi Ling, Revenge!
^^, Vengeance before virtue. Another gameplay battle did before in Dynasty Warriors 6. I used Liu Bei here, the one who initiates this battle. The man of virtue and benevolence turns to the man who is out for revenge for the death of his sworn brothers. I do like this character arc of Liu Bei among other leaders of the Three Kingdoms. Historically, Shu forces was defeated by Wu, and Liu Bei ends in sad, grief ending.
Myself as a player really want to help him exact vengeance. In this battle, the complete opposite of history happened. A well-calculated strategy with unbridled rage will make the Wu forces pay.
The music 'With Vengeance' wholly self-explains what our forces out for. Being the most tragic out of the three kingdoms, Shu have the best music collection both historical and hypothetical routes.

Dynasty Warriors 6 Special (PS2) - Lu Bu - Battle of Hu Lao Gate (Hard)
^^, This is where the one of the worst DW games blows every good, better, and even the best DW games out of the water. Pretty much the most iconic battle in all Musou games. Lu Bu just slaps everyone., and no one provides decent challenge.
A dedicated throwback retrospect to my fellow gamer Shatoke RG. We played this same game, same battle, same characters before (himself playing as Zhao Yun).

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition - Lianshi, Jiangxia, IF
^^, Lianshi is my favorite female character in all modern Warriors games in terms of character itself, design, weapons (crossbows or petal ducks). While being the wife of King of Wu, she has the best of most female characters in the game. She might be difficult to use even by experienced Musou gamers, but she deals huge damage when hit the marks.
This defensive battle is on Wu Kingdom's hypothetical timeline. The alliance of Shu and Wu still on, both won their independent battles (Hanzhong and Hefei) against the mighty Wei Kingdom, thus no Fan Castle battle. Having 2 vs 1 advantage, Wei will do all it can to divide them.
Actually this is a silly battle but reaffirm the two kingdom's alliance.

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition - Jiang Wei, Wuzhang Plains
^^, The last major battle for one of the Three Kingdoms, Shu's historical part. Also the battle before Kong Ming (Zhuge Liang) departs to the afterlife. With his new dual end Qilin Trident, the prodigious Jiang Wei no longer in the shadows of Zhao Yun and Ma Chao. An emotional stage, yet hopeful.
The battle is relatively easy even on Hard difficulty and at lower level. No sudden drop of forces' morale. There is a hypothetical point to defeat 2 messengers on each opposite side of the map, which is almost impossible to complete on single player, the reward will be the end-battle event will appear longer; Zhuge Liang will be able to talk to Jiang Wei one last time.
The music 'Hopeful Pain' in this stage is the best soundtrack in all Dynasty Warriors 8. A perfect theme name for someone bids its farewell to all and passing the torch to the next generation.

^^, Kinda late upload for a recorded gameplay. One of the most fun stages in the game, flanking the enemy then going the center in an all-out brawl. A lot of generic enemy dialogues as you defeat them every single time. I used Cao Cao, Nuwa and Jiang Wei, played in chaotic chaos difficulty.

^^, I did the previous battle in Dynasty Warriors 6 before, you will be the one to initiate the flood attack. Now in this game, the enemy will be the ones to do it, thus you have to prevent it. Historically, this battle led to Guan Yu's ultimate defeat. But with our Warriors game prowess, Xu Shu's cool guided strategy, awesome reinforcements, manage to tremble the enemies to defeat. Guan Yu seems underequipped in this gameplay, but he is the God of War.

With a badass character, RPG elements ahead of its time, great classic movesets, a hidden gem, and criminally underrated and underappreciated game due to its predecessors and successors alike.
