𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐂𝐂𝐉𝐄 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩-𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐒𝐁𝐑𝐂

Randolf King Tulay and Erick Ryan Que, graduates of the Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC)'s Criminology Department, clinched the top two spots in the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) Batch 2023-02 Class "BAGSIK LAHI".

The graduation ceremony, which celebrated their exceptional achievements, was held on June 24, at the Police Regional Training Center 2 Quadrangle, Minante 1, Cauayan City.

They dominated 501 other trainees in the rigorous six-month program, equipping aspiring police officers with essential skills and knowledge for their responsibilities in the future.

Moreover, trainees were selected nationwide to meet the National Capital Region quota, undergoing comprehensive training covering professional conduct, police science, administration, and combat operations and tactics.

This accomplishment further underscores Tulay and Que's impressive track record, as they were previously recognized as Regional Topnotchers in the December 2023 Criminologist Licensure Examination.

Their outstanding performance in both coursework and practical training is a testament to the top-notch instruction provided by the ISU-CCC Criminology program.

In addition, Police Brigadier General Lex Ehraim Gurat, the acting director of the Philippine National Police's Directorate for Plans, served as the guest of honor and speaker at the said ceremony.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐈𝐒𝐔-𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

Thirty-three law students graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the College of Law of the Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC), held at Meraki Garden, Reina Mercedes, June 21.

The ceremony commemorated the graduate students for completing the rigorous journey of law school, preparing them to become future legal professionals.

To inspire and empower these graduates, Samuel Gaerlan, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, graced the occasion as the guest speaker.

Gaerlan congratulated the graduates, praising their hard work and emphasizing the responsibility they now hold: to uphold democracy, promote the rule of law, safeguard the people, and provide inclusive and equitable justice for all.

“Your mastery of the laws does not in any way make you more important or above others. Do not seek special treatment, nor does it give you the right to look down or trample on them. Instead serve the people, alleviate the suffering of the marginalized, the weak, and the vulnerable,” he cautioned.

Gaerlan also advised the graduates that although the practice of law will prove to be even more challenging, they must stand strong on their wills, morals, and convictions.

“Always foster growth and reach your maximum potential through continuous learning and self-improvement. Your passions, no matter how big or small, can have a significant impact in your community,” he encouraged.

University President Dr. Ricmar Aquino, Campus Executive Officer Dr. Precila Delima, and Dr. Boyet Batang also attended the said event.

This graduating class serves as a testament to ISU's commitment to nurturing not only innovation, entrepreneurship, and research, but also the future vanguards of the legal system.

𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐀 | 𝐀𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠

Far too many parents dream of climbing the stage on their child’s graduation, to see the fruit of their labor as a parent. Far too many children crave the feeling of success, to finally look down the stage and see the glee in their parent’s eyes.

Far too little to realize the silent battles on both sides, not so much spoken aloud, barely brought up, hidden behind those avoidant eyes, silenced by the choked sobs.

On one hand, they could never understand the ungrateful state of their child, up all night on those bright computer boxes on their desk, only seeing it as an unnecessary object of addiction. Why couldn’t they just stop being so lazy and actually study?

On the other hand, they could never understand what they did so wrong. They stayed up all night studying, only taking a small break to relax before they proceeded to continue studying till the sun came up and it was time for classes again. What do I have to do for you to be proud of me?

And in the end, far too many have lost hope. Parents who are blinded by their expectations, they need to see their own creations’ success, and children who create a distance to escape the overbearing gaze of expectation.

Sadly, sometimes the distance becomes impossible to close, the gap far too big and far too long to cross. Not unless they meet in the middle ground. Most times, it’s too late though, and one way or another, the distance becomes permanent as one, either, or both sides finally sleep forever.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐄𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐏𝐄𝐝 𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐒𝐔-𝐂𝐂𝐂, 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐐𝐀𝐓

Bagong programang Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) na isinulong ng Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC), kasama ang College of Education (CEd), sumalang sa ebalwasyon ng Commission on Higher Education Regional Quality Assurance Team (CHED RQAT), Hunyo 14.

Ginanap ang pagtitipon sa campus hostel na dinaluhan ng mga opisyal ng campus at mga miyembro ng faculty ng CEd, kung saan kabilang sa mga nagsilbing evaluators mula sa CHED RQAT ay sina Don Dela Cruz, Dr. Marie Grace Cabansag, at Dr. Madelyn Estacio.

Ang pagbisita ay upang tukuyin kung makakapasa sa ebalwasyon ang ISU-CCC para makapag-alok ng bagong programa na BPEd na epektibo sa S.Y. 2024-2025.

Kaugnay nito, isinasagawa ang pagsusuri at ebalwasyong ito ng CHED RQAT sa mga programa ng edukasyon upang makapagbigay ng Certificate of Program Compliance sa nasabing institusyon.

Ayon kay Dr. Liezel Joy Quilang, dekana ng CEd, ang RQAT ay isang grupo ng mga eksperto na nagpapasiya ng kalidad ng mga programa ng edukasyon sa pamamagitan ng mga assessment at evaluation.

"Mahalaga ang pagsasagawa ng RQAT visit dahil ito ay isang mahalagang bahagi ng proseso ng pagpapatalastas ng kalidad ng mga programa ng edukasyon sa pamamagitan ng Commission on Higher Education," paglilinaw ni Quilang.

Kabilang sa mga itinampok sa naganap na ebalwasyon ay ang mga sumusunod: program administration, pagsisiyasat sa mga credentials at kwalipikasyon ng faculty, curriculum ng programa, library, laboratory at instructional facilities, research, extension at linkages, at admission at retention.

Bukod pa rito, ang mga inaasahang benepisyo ng RQAT visit ay ang kalidad ng edukasyon, paggawa ng mga rekomendasyon, paggawa ng mga pagbabago, at may layuning pagpapalago sa kalidad ng mga programang pang-edukasyon sa mga unibersidad.

Samantala, ito ay subject for evaluation pa lamang kung kaya't hinihintay pa ang opisyal na resulta ng nasabing ebalwasyon mula sa CHED.

Naniniwala naman si Dr. Precila Delima, Executive Officer ng ISU-CCC, na tulad ng ibang State Universities and Colleges o SUCs, sila ay nakatuon sa paghahatid ng de-kalidad ng edukasyon, kaya naman sila ay sumasailalim sa ganong uri ng pagtatasa.

"In ISU, we recognize the importance of quality assurance in HEI and fully supports the objective of CHED RQAT in ensuring that our programs submits the highest standards of quality, so that is our main objective," dagdag ni Delima.

Sa pahayag ni Estacio, ang ISU-CCC ay bihasa sa aspeto ng assessment at hintayin na lang ang sasabihin ng CHED tungkol sa mga susunod na magaganap.

Ang nabanggit na ebalwasyon ay layuning magbigay ng oportunidad sa mga mag-aaral at mapakinabangan ang mga programa.

The College of Business Management (CBM) of the Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC) carried out the Product Innovation and Product Launch Event through an extension program held at the food laboratory, June 14.

During her opening remarks, Extension Director Dr. Nancy De Leon emphasized, "ISU-Cauayan is known to offer quality education on instruction."

De Leon discussed how effective the faculty members of ISU-CCC can travel around the world due to the various research opportunities available to them.

She then commended the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management faculty under CBM as a calibre group who reached the Level IV Phase 2 in the Accreditation.

Moreover, Dr. Jehoana Mones, Dean of CBM, stated the purpose and led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement, underscoring the partnership between Isabela Green Ladies Organization (IGLO)-Cordon and ISU-CCC to collaboratively achieve each other's goals and objectives.

Conchita Palencia, Province of Isabela Green Ladies Association, Inc. - Chief Executive Director and Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina Nasyunal, Inc- adviser, clarified regarding helping the said organization with "give and take relationships" will alleviate poverty.

Palencia also offered opportunities to those who are interested, and after graduation, she will provide the materials needed for the catering as one of her highlights.

In addition, the event delved into different lectures, featuring Event and Layout Design, Table Setting and Centerpiece Making, Food Costing, Food Plating and Garnishing, Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, and Food Safety, among others.

A return demo followed suit, applying the knowledge gained to real-life situations.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng mga Bahaghari, isinagawa ng Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC), kasama ang opisina ng Supreme Student Council at Local Government Unit (LGU) ng Cauayan, ang Bamboo Pride Festival 2024.

Ginanap ang festival sa campus gymnasium noong Hunyo 10-11 na may temang, "A Radiant Swirl of Pride; Colors Commanding the Sky: Illuminating the Pride Spectrum for Sustainable Development Goals," na naglalayong kilalanin ang kakayahan sa mga kasama sa komunidad ng LGBTQIA+.

Kabilang sa mga itinampok na aktibidad ang Search for Bamboo BahagReyna 2024, Bamboo Drag Queen 2024, Trashion Designer 2024, Bamboo Sass Warrior 2024, Pride March, Music Festival, Bamboo Pride Ball, SheBall: Le***an Basketball Game, SheBekLamation Contest, at iba.

Ang mga nasabing gawain ay nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral mula sa iba't ibang paaralan sa lungsod ng Cauayan, na nagbigay-daan upang ibandera ang kanilang kahusayan at personalidad.

Ayon kay Ara Wong Tolentino, Presidente ng Bugai, nagagalak at natutuwa siya sapagkat ang Bamboo Pride Festival 2024 ang pinakamalaking selebrasyon para sa mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA+ sa siyudad ng Cauayan.

"Isang patunay na walang mamamayan ang napag-iiwanan sa lungsod ng Cauayan. Ano man ang uri ng iyong kasarian, dahil sa Cauayan City, sabi nga nila, una ka dito," ani ni Tolentino.

Binigyang diin niya rin na ang ISU-CCC ang unang unibersidad na nagbigay ng makatao at makulay na pagkilala sa mga LGBT student, lalo na sa pagbibigay ng importansya sa mga inklusibong tagisan.

Ibinahagi naman ng pangulo ng Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Bamboo na si Camilo Ballad ang kanilang suporta sa mga kabilang sa LGBTQIA+, na lumilikha ng isang tumatanggap na lipunan dahil nararapat ang lahat na mabuhay ng walang takot at diskriminasyon.

"Young Filipinos today are more diverse, open, and tolerant than past generations. And if we're going to attract the best and the brightest among them to contribute to our mission—we have ourselves to be more open, diverse, and tolerant too," dagdag ni Ballad.

Nilinaw niyang ang pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian ay mahalaga upang matiyak ang pagkamakatarungan at pagkakataon para sa lahat anuman ang pagkakakilanlan at pagpapahayag ng kasarian, kung saan pantay ang karapatan, responsibilidad, at oportunidad.

Para kay Atty. Christian Gonzales, ang Bamboo Pride Festival 2024 ay patunay na sa lungsod ng Cauayan, may pagkakaisa at pagkakaiba-iba, lahat ay pantay-pantay, protektado, at pinapahalagahan, anuman ang kasarian.

"Our identity should not be above the law, we should not be using our identity to go against what is in the law. Sabi ko nga our identities are very important. Our identities make us unique but we should know our bottom line, when we set our bottom line then everything will fall into place," pahayag din ni Dr. Marisol Foronda, Director of Administrative and Finance Services.

Bukod sa pagdiriwang, sa mensahe ni Maria Cristine Ordoñez, Direktor ng Gender and Development Focal System mula sa LGU ng Cauayan, ang kanilang proyekto ngayong taon ay "Database," upang maitala ang usapin ng kasarian hindi lamang sa lalaki at babae, kundi dapat makilala ang lahat mula sa barangay hanggang sa pambansang antas.

Kaugnay nito, kasama rin sa programa ang symposium ukol sa Sexually Transmissible Infections, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Awareness, libreng HIV testing sa Campus Hostel, at libreng gupit at kilay.

On June 6-7, the Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus (ISU-CCC) participated in the Far Eastern University (FEU) Global Second International Conference hosted by FEU, spotlighting solutions and approaches to security issues within the countries from Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and North Asia, and South and Southeast Asia (South-South Collaboration).

Students, researchers, and faculty members from the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (BAPOS) of School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) joined in the conference, synergizing their excellence.

Adjudged as one of the five best papers, the study titled "Self-Sufficiency of Former 4Ps Beneficiaries in Isabela: Showcasing Their Success Stories," presented by Jeduard Bernardo, BAPOS Program Chair, and authored by BAPOS alumni Romalyn Domingo and Kristine Pascua.

Their research was conducted under the mentorship of Arnold Pascua, Jessa Marie Alvarez, and Bernardo.

Likewise, Jevi Chelle Kyla Belmote, Jennel Zabat, Eunice Nicolle Guyod, and Ruthjoy Arcalas presented their research papers in the said conference, underscoring the activeness of the studentry.

Namely, "Indigenous Knowledge and Practices of Agta Community and Their Role on Environmental Governance" by Belmonte and Zabat, "Impact of Differences in Political Ideologies in Students' Social Relationships," by Guyod and "Civic-Minded Leadership: Participation of Students of Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus" by Arcalas.
