| DTI Northern Samar though its Negosyo Center Catubig in partnership with the ever- supportive LGU Catubig headed by Municipal Mayor Solomon G. Vicencio and Vice Mayor Galahad O. Vicencio spearheaded the rice price monitoring in Barangay Poblacion public markets today, September 5, 2023.

This sought to raise awareness among rice sellers about the issuance of Executive Order No. 39 on improving mandated price ceilings in rice to combat hoarding, profiteering, smuggling, and cartelization.

Present during the said price monitoring are the Municipal Agriculturist - Anita Estudillo, Business Permits and Licensing Officer - Lon T. Aldeosa, NCBC Catubig - Sherena Hipe, RCC - Carina Alburan, MAO AT - Rosita Gelilang and Narciso Adora, PCpl Julius Danque, and PSSg Baltazar Pontecilla Jr.

The joint recommendation of the DA and DTI to impose a rice ceiling aims to ensure that the stable is "reasonably priced and conveniently accessible" to Filipino rice consumers, according to EO 39.
