BASAHIN: Labis ang panghihinayang ni 10th Infantry Division Commander MGen Nolasco Mempin sa sinapit ng dating estudyante ng UP-Diliman na si Chad Booc.

Ito’y dahil kabilang si Booc sa limang namatay nang makipagbakbakan sa militar ang grupo ng CPP-NPA sa Purok 8, Brgy. Andap, New Bataan, Davao de Oro.

Matapos ang 15 minutong engkwentro sa pagitan ng 1001st Infantry Brigade at Southern Mindanao Regional Committee ng CPP-NPA, narekober ang bangkay nina Booc, isang Jojarain Alce Nguho II at tatlong iba pa.

Ayon kay MGen Mempin. sina Booc at Ngiho ay kapwa mga g**o ng kontrobersyal na Alcadev School o bakwit school na nagtuturo sa mga kabataang indigenous people.

Sabi ni Mempin, cm laude graduate ng Bachelor of Computer Science sa UP Diliman si Booc pero kilalang aktibista at recruiter ng CPP-NPA noong estudyante pa ito.

Two children were killed while an adult civilian was wounded in an attack by New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Catubig, Northern Samar. Identified; Andre Mercado, 12, was declared dead on arrival at the Catubig Hospital, Leandro Alivio, 13, died while being treated at the Northern Samar Hospital the following day. Two rebels were also reportedly wounded when the soldiers returned fire. The municipal government of Catubig and the provincial government of Northern Samar provided assistance to the relatives of the fatalities and the wounded civilian.

Ensuring the safety of all personnel and as per Executive Order No. 44 series of 2021 issued by the Hon. Reynolds Michael T. Tan, Governor of the Province of Samar, CLASSES and OFFICE WORK are suspended effective this AFTERNOON, December 15, 2021.

University officials and concerned faculty and support staff are requested to ensure the security of documents and pieces of equipment/apparatus of their respective offices/classrooms/laboratories. Also, concerned University officials who are in-charge of the processing and the granting of benefits of personnel and the closing of books shall ensure that transactions are facilitated.

August 30 (National Heroes Day - Holiday)

The Catbalogan City Youth for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management , Samar Provincial Health Office and the The City Government of Catbalogan will spearhead its 5th Batch of Blood Letting Activity this August 30, 2021 (National Heroes Day - Holiday) at Samar National School (SNS) , we would like to invite our regular donors and everyone else interested in donating blood to join us in this activity.

The blood supply that will be gathered will be of tremendous assistance to our Samarnon, as it will be deposited in the Samar Provincial Health Facility and distributed equally to the Samar District Hospital.

📍 REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be 18 years old or above;
2. Pulse rate between 60 and 100 beats/minutes
3. Blood Pressure must be between 90 and 160 systolic and 60 and 100 diastolic;
4. Must weight at least 50 klg.

📍 REMINDERS BEFORE DONATING:
1. Take enough hours of sleep;
2. Avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours before giving blood;
3. Drink plenty of water before the donation;
4. Eat a healthy, 4 or more hrs. before you donate;
5. Eat iron-rich foods starting a week or two before you donate. These include red meat, eggs, whole grains, and dark green vegetables like spinach. Get additional vitamin C to help in iron absorption.

NOTE:
Those who got their 1st Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine should take the following precautions:
You can only donate if you have already received the 1st dosage and it is in its second week.
