As part of the graduation preparations for Batch 2024, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) - Catanauan Extension held its 3rd Baccalaureate Mass, Hooding & Candle-Lighting, and Awarding Ceremonies on August 15, 2024. The event, which began at 8:00 AM, took place at the PAGCOR Building, SLSU Madulao Campus.

The ceremonies commenced with a solemn Baccalaureate Mass, followed by the traditional Hooding and Candle-Lighting ceremony, symbolizing the academic and personal achievements of the graduates. The event also featured an Awarding Ceremony to recognize the outstanding accomplishments and contributions of the graduates throughout their academic journey.

On 211000H June 2024, the Southern Luzon State University ROTC Unit conducted Joint Advance and Basic Commencement Exercise of NSTP-ROTC Class 2024 under the leadership of our commandant LTC NILO H DATOR INF (GSC) PAR The ceremony was honored by the presence of COL JUANITO M PARAZO Jr INF (GSC) PA 404th Community Defense Center Director, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The program consisted of two (2) Advanced Officer ROTC Graduates, ten (10) Basic Officer Graduates, and two hundred twenty-one (221) ROTC Basic Cadet Graduates, with a total of two hundred thirty-three (233) who successfully completed the program requirements for their respective ROTC courses.

On behalf of SLSU-CATANAUAN ROTC unit, we would like to congratulate all Advance Officer and Basic ROTC Graduates and we wish you all the best as you fulfill your duties and responsibilities to our nation.

We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to SLSU-Catanauan Campus Director Prof. Cerfred A. Alcantara for his unwavering support and dedication to the ROTC program. We also express our gratitude to Mr. Ernesto C. Formento III, the ROTC Coordinator, for his exceptional leadership and organization. Additionally, we thank the teaching and non-teaching staff for their invaluable contributions and hard work in ensuring the success of this event. Their combined dedication has made this commencement ceremony a remarkable and memorable occasion.

NEWS UPDATE | SLSU Catanauan Extension Reschedules Entrance Exam to June 8, 2024

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) - Catanauan Extension has announced the rescheduling of its college entrance exam, which was postponed on May 26, 2024, due to Typhoon "Aghon." The new date for the exam is set for June 8, 2024, at 8:00 AM.

Prospective students and other concerned parties are advised to take note of this change. For further information or inquiries, the SLSU Student Admission Office is available from Mondays to Fridays, excluding holidays. The contact details are as follows:

On Tuesday, May 7, the newly elected President of Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), Dr. Frederick T. Villa, visited the SLSU Catanauan Extension Campus. Accompanying Dr. Villa were several key university officials, including Dr. Erwin D. Villaverde, Director of Campus Operations/CAO; Dr. Arvin Natividad, Dean of CIT; Engr. Melvin Makipagay, Director of PDO-Infrastructure; Dr. Francisco Beltran, Head of CSSU; Engr. Ronelito San Jose, Head of PPF; Ms. Maritess O. Villa, OP Staff; Ms. Mary Ann Salumbides, OP Staff; Ms. Sarah May Rivere, OP Staff; Engr. Mark Kevin Makipagay, Project Management Team Member; and Engr. Mary Rose Bojelador, PDO Staff.

The visit concluded with a meeting between Dr. Villa and the class presidents of the campus, where various student concerns were addressed. Following the official activities, the SLSU Catanauan Extension Campus hosted a simple belated birthday celebration for Dr. Villa, honoring his recent election and his leadership.

ANG ARAW NG KAGITINGAN | Tuwing ika-9 ng Abril, ipinagdiriwang ang “Araw ng Kagitingan” bilang pagpupugay sa kadakilaan, tapang at pagpupunyagi ng mga Pilipino na lumaban sa mga Hapones noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig. Ang kanilang pagtitiis at sakripisyo ay nagtampok sa kasalukuyang kalayaan ng bansa. Sa kabila ng hirap at panganib, ang kanilang mga gawa at halimbawa ay bumuo ng yaman ng ating kasaysayan. Ang bawat hakbang sa Martsa ng Kamatayan sa Bataan ay sumasalamin sa kalayaang ating natatamo ngayon, ang bawat dugo't pawis na dumanak ay naghatid ng mas malawakang kamalayan upang gisingin ang panandaliang humimlay na katapangan at nagpa-agos sa dugong Pilipino na nais ay kasarinlan.

Tayong lahat ay magsama-sama sa pag-aalala at pagbibigay-pugay sa bawat kuwentong kabayanihan. Itinataguyod nito ang pagpapalalim ng pagiging makabayan ng kasalukuyang henerasyon. ADVISORY | SLSU Observes Araw ng Kagitingan and Eid'l Fitr

Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) announces the suspension of all office operations and classes on April 9 and 10 in observance of Araw ng Kagitingan and Eid'l Fitr.

However, essential work units of the university, such as security guards, farm workers, and forest rangers, will continue to provide their services on these dates.

The suspension is mandated by Proclamation No. 368 and Proclamation No. 514 of the Office of the President (OP) of the Republic of the Philippines, designating these celebrations as regular holidays.

CAF '24 UPDATES | Raizel Dumaran Secures 5th Place with 'Ibong Sawi' in Kundiman Competition; Pop Solo and Vocal Duet Miss Out on Spots

In the prestigious Kundiman competition held on April 5th as part of the Inter-collegiate and Campuses Athletic Competition - Culture and Arts Festival (ICCAC-CAF), the Catanauan Lady Wolves showcased their exceptional talent. Among the 12 participants from various colleges and satellite campuses, Lady Wolves' Raizel Dumaran secured the 5th spot with her performance of the song 'Ibong Sawi.'

Meanwhile, in other categories, Regine Reoveros in the Pop Solo category with 'Amakabogera' and Jade Esquebel and Ivy Angeles in the Vocal Duet category with 'Paano ba ang Magmahal' did not advance to the top 5 during the elimination round, SLSU Gymnasium.

Catanauan Wolves participated in the Inter-collegiate and Campuses Athletic Competition - Culture and Arts Festival (ICCAC-CAF) Radio Drama competition. Their entry, "Ang Tinig ng Halaga," featured a talented cast including Mark Justine Ner, Nigel Hernandez, Sherilyn Penid, Lindsay Aguilar, and Gladies Lizardo.

Despite fierce competition from 6 colleges and campuses, the Wolves claimed the 5th place. The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dragons took the top spot, followed by the Tiaong Phytons in 2nd place, and the College of Teacher Education (CTE) Torchbearers in 3rd.
