PAGPAPAALIS NG MGA PASAHERO SA MATNOG PORT, BINUSISI SA COMMITTEE HEARING!

Nagsagawa ng committee hearing kaninang umaga ang Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Sorsogon sa pangunguna ni 1st District Provincial Board Member Edmundo Ayo Atutubo ukol sa isyu ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA). Tinutukoy sa pagdinig ang diumanoโ€™y pagpapaalis ng mga pasahero sa PPA building sa Matnog Port noong nakaraang taon habang nanalasa ang Bagyong "Pepito."

Ayon sa PPA, napilitan silang paalisin ang mga pasahero dahil sa inilabas na storm surge advisory ng DOST-PAGASA. Bunsod nito, napagpasyahan nilang ilikas ang mga nasa loob ng PPA building bilang pag-iingat sa posibleng pinsala ng bagyo.

Gayunman, iginiit ni Provincial Administrator Eric Ravanilla na nais nilang maliwanagan kung bakit ginawa ito ng PPA. Aniya, mas nailagay pa sa peligro ang mga pasahero sa halip na panatilihing ligtas ang mga ito sa loob ng gusali.

Samantala, ibinunyag ni Bokal Atutubo na nakarating na sa kaalaman nina Congresswoman Dette Escudero at Congressman Wowo Fortes ang nasabing isyu. Mismong si Senate President Chiz Escudero ay nagpahayag din ng interes na imbestigahan ito. Samantala, binigyang-diin ni Atty. Adrian Alegre na may batas na nag-uutos na dapat may nakatalagang evacuation center ang bawat ahensya gaya ng PPA, lalo na sa mga ganitong sitwasyon.
