"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." -John Quincy Adams

Aimie Jane Pruel of the Talutang (Student Publication Office) and Abbie Amos of the Supreme Student Government (SSG), two exemplary young women who led the two mother organizations proved that studying before serving is never a barrier to leadership.

With their commendable efforts, both of them aimed to inspire student leaders, needless to say, being one requires a lot of hard work and determination to be able to carry out the duties and obligations assigned to them. Throughout their arduous journey in academics and upheavals inside the organization, they managed to overcome every obstacle.

In an exclusive interview, Pruel, the editor-in-chief of Talutang, said that she occasionally procrastinates her academic tasks as she firmly prioritizes the things that need to be done inside the organization, but regardless of what she's willing to sacrifice, she was still able to maintain excellent grades.

"The key to being a student leader and, at the same time, an achiever are perserverance, dedication, and passion," she stressed.

She continued by reminding aspiring student journalists, that discipline and interpersonal communication skills are crucial if one aims to be an achiever-student journalist.

Meanwhile, Amos, the Supreme Student Government (SSG) president, shared that she was able to juggle her responsibilities as a student and a leader for two consecutive school years, all the while maintaining her academic accomplishments.

"Learn to balance your time and organize your priorities. Be responsible with your duties, and also do not forget that even if you are a student leader, never forget to prioritize your academics," she says.

In addition, Amos encourages every student to take good risks, resist the urge to give in to fear, and remember to always seek guidance from above.

Furthermore, with the honors and recognitions they have received, both of them knew that their hard work has paid off and these will undoubtedly have a profound and long-lasting impact in the organizations as well as in the university.

Graduation Waves Goodbye, But What Waves Hello?

The caps are tossed, the diplomas seize tight—graduation season is upon us!
But there's this question that remains in the midst of those cheers and happiness: what will happen next?

For many students, graduation represents the culmination of years of hard work, late nights spent gaping at textbooks, and victories over academic challenges. It serves as a testimony to their courage, perseverance, and unwavering dedication to education.
However, it is also an important turning point, signaling the end of a well-established path, even with the sometimes frightening prospect of creating a new one.

In this final stage of Talutang's "What if" series, we will explore the unknown territory beyond graduation. We're going to take a look at the many "what ifs" swirling in the minds of graduating students.
Remember, graduation is just a stepping stone rather than the final stage of your journey. To embrace the "what ifs" and tap into your courage and determination in order to face an exciting but unpredictable journey ahead!
