A Day of Role Reversal: Students Embrace Roles on Carcar Academy's Employees Day

Can you feel the love all around CATSI?

Nestled within the reputation for educational excellence at Carcar Academy, in a remarkable gesture, CATSI's Board of Trustees has officially proclaimed February 14 as Employees Day, a heartfelt tribute to the diligent teachers and staff members contributing to the school's triumphs.

To grant a respite well-earned, a carefully curated staycation has been orchestrated, commencing from the evening of February 13 and lasting through February 14. As the sun rises, sending a warm golden glow across the coastline, it appears as if nature itself is joining in the fun. Each grain of sand represents a moment of dedication, adding to the stunning mosaic of admiration. The waves, with their calm rhythm, contribute to the symphony of appreciation, slamming into the coast like applause. This gathering is a beautiful monument to the significance of gratitude and unity. As the tides ebb and flow, the event embraces the staff, celebrating their unwavering dedication.

During this interlude, asynchronous classes take precedence, course activities seamlessly find their way onto the Quipper LMS platform, offering students access during their scheduled subject times. This pause in regular activities provides an invaluable moment for reflection, gratitude, and revitalization, ensuring that as classes resume on February 15, everyone returns with renewed vigor.

This year, Employees Day took on a unique twist at CATSI. Instead of the usual routine where staff members are recognized and celebrated, the school decided to shake things up. In a departure from convention, the school went beyond just giving hardworking employees a well-deserved rest day. A bold move was made by handing over the reins to a group of eager students, ushering in a day of role reversal and unique experiences.

The concept was simple yet profound: students would step into the shoes of their teachers and other staff members for the day. This innovative approach aimed at providing students with insight into the responsibilities and challenges that come with running a school. Beyond gaining practical knowledge, this initiative fostered a sense of empowerment and ownership among the student body, creating a memorable and impactful Employees Day.

Furthermore, CATSI enhances the fun of Employees Day by opening fascinating booths, adding another layer of delight to the festivities. In the spirit of Valentine's Day, the school promotes the expression of love and affection. Dedication booths, love chains, and even mock marriages helps in creating an exciting and welcoming ambiance. The echoes of delight reach well beyond the CATSI Gym, making this Valentine's Day more than a spark, but a booming celebration. The sincere comments and shared experiences make for an exciting and memorable event for everyone concerned.

The dual celebration of Valentine's Day and Employees Day at CATSI beautifully emphasizes the significance of love in all aspects of life. Whether expressing appreciation for teachers or celebrating love in personal relationships, the message is clear — love knows no boundaries and can be shared every day. This bears to everyone's mind that no matter what day, no matter what time, and no matter what circumstances we always have the heart to love, the love to give and the mind to care.

Family Day at CATSI is a celebration that drives together the school community and serves to prompt the school's mission and the importance of family for the community. The event provides an opportunity for the community to come together for a day of fun and entertainment. It is a cardinal part of the school's identity and culture, and it strengthens a sense of community and belonging among its stakeholders. Family Day at Carcar Academy goes beyond the traditional parent-teacher relationship to inaugurate a welcoming atmosphere in which one and all contribute to a child's holistic development. The school's adherence to cultivating not only dazzling minds as well as, connected families can be seen in the lasting memories turned out on this day.

This day is devoted to fortifying the ties that strap families to the school community. The celebration of the essence of family among students, parents, and staff is a testament to the school's dedication to creating a nurturing environment. This also gives direction to the parents and guardians that their children are in competent safe care which can truly erect these learners as victorious; When parents and siblings eagerly fuse the students in their academic haven, the lively atmosphere is palpable. With vibrant decorations and a diversity of activities for all ages, the school grounds become a hub of excitement and community. Saliently, a sports carnival where families compete with one another in games like pass the flour and shoot mo relay. The idea that family extends beyond the home and into the school community is reinforced by the laughter and cheers that accompany the healthy competition spirit.

Sinulog sa CATSI 2024: A Symphony of Faith Throughout the Years

In the Queen City of the South, Cebuanos eagerly await the Sinulog Festival as the year comes to a close. Originating from a humble religious celebration, Sinulog has grown into an international attraction profoundly steeped in Filipino culture, particularly in Cebu in the Visayan province. Celebrated in honor of the Santo Niño, the Holy Child, the festival is marked by lively dances, religious processions, and cultural events, serving as both a time for merrymaking and religious devotion.

Believed to have originated in 1521 when Queen Juana, the then-pagan queen of Sugbu, received the holy image of the child Jesus from Spanish missionaries, the Sinulog Festival holds historical and theological significance in the rise of Christianity in the Philippines.

Carcar Academy Technical School (CATSI) actively participates in this cultural celebration by integrating it into the academic calendar, making it a highly anticipated event for students and staff alike. The festivities provide a break from the routine and offer a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate their shared heritage.

The festivities commenced with an array of competitions featuring festival queens and ritual showdowns amongst contingents. The queen's joyful dance, reminiscent of Queen Juana's jubilant jig, set the tone for everyone's graceful and passionate performance. Students, teachers, and staff united in celebration, honoring Señor Santo Niño with a kaleidoscope of lively colors that echoed throughout the campus. The convergence of faith and creativity unfolded through rhythmic drumbeats, vibrant Cebuano-inspired attire, and meticulously choreographed dances, creating a captivating display of devotion— all dedicated to the Balaang Bata, Señor Santo Niño.

The dance rituals honoured the Philippines' religious identity, portraying the story of the country's transition from a pagan past to embrace of Christianity. The dancers' beautiful motions, exquisite costumes, and rhythmic beats echoed the ageless chant "Pit Senyor!" which means "Hail to Señor Sto. Niño."

CATSI holds Novena for Sr. Santo Niño

"Praise be to the Blessed Child, Senior Santo Niño!"

Today, January 18th, marks the start of our annual devotion and novena. Offering our petitions, thanks, and regrets to our beloved Sr. Santo Niño and celebrating his brilliance.
Earlier, as the clock said "tick tock" and when its arrows struck at three 'o'clock in the afternoon, everyone—students, teachers, and faculties—gathered to begin the long-awaited Novena on the feast of Sr. Santo Niño. It is also believed that the feast of Sr. Santo Niño symbolises the birth of Catholicism in the Philippines.

This kind of event is normal to us; that's why, on this day, on behalf of all Filipinos, specifically Cebuanos, Academians showed how much they appreciated the Novena and the upcoming festival.

They united in holding this event. During the said Novena, Academians wholeheartedly welcomed the holding of the event and prayed.

This tradition where teachers and students were gathered for a day of warmth and spiritual renewal. Bathed in the glory of a glorious afternoon, the CATSI community revelled in the harmony, faith, and dedication that this annual event offers. All those present people have a particular place in their hearts for Sr. Santo Niño because the image of the child Jesus represents innocence, purity, and divine love. A fundamental belief in Filipino society is praise for the Sr. Santo Niño, which serves as an important reminder of the blessings that come with having faith.

Let us all praise his magnificence and bask in the glory of our Sr. Santo Niño by exclaiming what we've always chanted for generations: Viva Pit Senyor!

Carcar Academy Technical School, Inc. finds itself at the forefront of fostering a sense of compassion and generosity. Their initiative, "Kalipay Mo, Kalipay Ko," aims and desires the chance to give and share blessings.

Beyond the tangible presents, this endeavor serves as a beacon illuminating the core values intrinsic to the institution. The sun penetrated each classroom, and the sound of everyone's footsteps – sprinting and walking could be heard. Every student was delighted to welcome the final day of intramurals. The booths were finally opened, and the movers started to make the move as the band filled everyone's auditory senses. The final day of intramurals had yet to come, the gymnasium was filled with colorful designs which put everyone in awe. This day highlights the Mr. and Ms. intramurals 2023, in which every partaker battles with wits and wisdom to achieve the crown. There are 30 contestants with the same goal both in heart and mind — the crown. The crown typifies charm and intellect, they need to fight to pull off such a titular thing. Today’s event kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony, setting the stage for an evening of glitz and glamour. The auditorium was adorned with elegant decorations, reflecting the enthusiastic spirit of the CATSI community.

Amid cheerful energy and spirited competition, Carcar Academy Technical School proudly wrapped up its intramurals with the highly-anticipated Mr. and Ms. CATSI event. With a showcase of not just physical strength, but also charm and showmanship— students were able to express themselves confidently on stage. Beyond celebrating athleticism, the event showcased the prominence of individualism and poise; The question-and-answer portion added an intellectual dimension to the competition. Contestants fielded questions with grace and intelligence, providing insights into their personalities and perspectives. The responses flaunted the depth of character among the competitors, making the selection process even more challenging for the judges.

The Ms. and Mr. Intramurals competition not only provided a platform for students to unveil their expertise but also fostered a sense of union and pride within the CATSI community. Kicking off the morning was the highly anticipated "The Voice of CATSI," a showcase of diverse vocal talents that wove emotive renditions of popular songs. As candidates took to the stage, their performances weren't just about showcasing musical talent; they were emotive storytellers, captivating the audience with their renditions of popular songs. The auditorium reverberated with enthusiastic cheers and applause, fostering an atmosphere brimming with camaraderie and genuine appreciation for the remarkable musical prowess of CATSI students.

As the sun reached its zenith, Carcar Academy became a stage for vibrant displays of creativity during its recent dance competition, a testament to the diverse talents of its students. Showcasing a rich tapestry of dance styles—field demo, pop jazz, and dance palabas—the event highlighted the remarkable abilities of these young talents. The Field Demo illuminated the stage with its flawless precision and coordination, while the Pop Jazz competition exuded a fusion of contemporary rhythms and captivating choreography, enthralling the audience and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.

As the first rays of the morning sun painted the sky, the academic gates opened another day of triumphs waiting to be conquered. The grounds were a mosaic of vibrant events and activities, drawing in students, teachers, and staff to explore into a day bursting with possibilities. From quirky games to heartwarming activities like marriage booths, paint-splattered face painting, and adrenaline-pumping eSports, each corner beckoned participants into a whirlwind of excitement.

The various booths set up by different clubs and organizations within the school showcased an array of engaging and interactive games, competitions. From jail booth, marriage booth, love chain booth, face painting booth, movie booth, e sports booth, melody gram booth, and carnival bonanza. The booths offered something for everyone. Students eagerly participated in the activities, momentarily escaping the burdens of daily life.

Yet, amidst the array of attractions, an afternoon event stood out — the BINGO for a Cause. This wasn't your average bingo session; it was a convergence of joy and giving.This extraordinary blend of entertainment and giving has achieved widespread acclaim, attracting a diverse audience of visitors determined to participate in the thrills and unity that this event offers. Each daubed number wasn't merely a step towards victory but rather it was a pledge to a greater cause, a testament to the spirit of unity and generosity coursing this year's intramurals.

Throughout the day, the campus reverberated with laughter, cheers, and a palpable sense of camaraderie. Today marks a memorable history for the academians as they explored and enjoyed every club activity on this club culmination day. A few of the students were asked about the experiences they've had as the end of the school year is fast approaching. This culminating activity is a token of appreciation for all of the students who have worked so hard for their academic progress, and as a result, everyone felt so joyous after everything. Surely, it was a lot of fun given the preparation and the whole day experience. Let's find out their responses to the activities prepared by each club as we search around the campus.

"SUGOD NA SA SINULOG, KITANG TANAN MAG PIT SENYOR!" As the Carcar Academy Technical School Incorporated continues its tradition, filled with red and yellow decorations indicating the celebration of the Sinulog festival. We, the Cebuanos, exhibit creativity as we dance and chant to dynamic songs offered to the very own image of our Senior Santo Niño. Before the Sinulog Celebration all students, teachers and staff attended a week-long novena for Snr. Santo Niño, started from January 21 until January 28, 2023. 📍January 29, 2023 - CATSI held the Family Day event for all of the students. This invites their parents or guardians for a day of fun. Since, our life is filled with various works and stress, we must not forget to fortify our relationships despite the hectic and busy schedules we have on our hands. Games and raffles were held to let the families bond with each other. The comes the Sinulog Celebration in the afternoon. Participated by all the JHS grade levels and SHS strands - who gave all their efforts, blood, sweat, and time to practice. We could all truly say that the practice underneath the scorching sun and sore muscles was worth the trouble. As they have all showed an astonishing and spectacular performances which awed the audience from their rituals, props, costume and the choreography - they all did amazingly well. We would like to give a massive thank you for everyone who made this event happen. To all the teachers, staff, and students who participated and gave all their best - we are truly grateful for your contribution. This celebration would not have happened especially without the blessing from our beloved Sr. Santo Niño, that made sure we were all safe and well during the preparations. We all had a wonderful time cherishing the moment that has been given to us; to have been able to spend quality time with our family, and wholeheartedly offer our devotion to Snr. Santo Niño.
