HAPPENING NOW | The 3-Day International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Camp 2024 officially began as key persons of the event started to arrive in the venue and delivered their remarks.

President of IYF Philippines, Rev. Abraham Nam, delivered the opening message acknowledging the presence of Caloocan youth and the efforts of the Caloocan LGU to commence the event.

University of Caloocan City President, Dr. Marilyn T. De Jesus, on the other hand, delivered her congratulatory message as the event offers different benefits that could help develop the youth.

Lastly, City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan extended his support and with Caloocan Local Youth Development Council Officer-in-Charge Leslie Anne Yakit delivering his message emphasizing the future role of youth leadership.

The event also featured different performances from various talented youth.

HAPPENING NOW | Various youth organizations in Caloocan City start to arrive in Caloocan Sports Complex, today, September 24, as the 2024 International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Camp commenced.

In partnership with the Caloocan Local Government Unit, the IYF aims to connect young people from different countries and cultures and to develop leadership capabilities.

HAPPENING NOW | UCC Advanced Life-savers and Emergency Response Team conducts their annual blood-letting project in partnership with Philippine Red Cross and Hygiene Clinic at University of Caloocan City - Congressional Campus.

The event also offers free HIV Testing for any interested participant.

The blood donation project will run until 3 in the afternoon.

LOOK | The UCC Advanced Life-savers and Emergency Response Team, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, will conduct its annual blood donation drive at University of Caloocan City - Congressional Campus, on September 19, 2024.

Moreover, the organization with the Hygiene Clinic will also offer free HIV Testing while ensuring the safety and sanitation of the cause.

UCC ALERT is encouraging all UCCians to participate on the blood donation drive and make significant impacts to the lives of people who need it due to medical conditions.

UNIVERSITY NEWS | SALUBONG 2024: UCCIANS CELEBRATE POST BAR EXAM

The community, composed of UCC College of Law & undergraduates, celebrates the post Bar Exam with Salubong 2024 at University of Caloocan City, yesterday, September 16.

The event aims to celebrate the fearless battles of 19 strong bar examinees of the university through exciting and wringing wet activities.

Water spray from two fire trucks, foams, and roaring cheers greet the barristers as they arrive at the event.

On September 8, 11, & 15, the Bar Exam happened where over 12,000 future lawyers participated— and 19 among them are the University of Caloocan City’s pride.

UCC The New Crossroads would like to congratulate our very own future lawyers! May the be with you!

ICYMI: Mayor Malapitan Highlights Progress and Future Plans in SOCA 2024

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan delivered his State of the City Address (SOCA), yesterday, September 6, 2024, showcasing his administration's achievements and outlining plans for the future.

Mayor Malapitan emphasized efforts to boost economic recovery, particularly through support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which have grown by 6,000 new registrations. He also announced partnerships with private companies to create job opportunities, focusing on the youth and displaced workers.

Additionally, Mayor Malapitan introduced a monthly allowance for registered solo parents and expressed gratitude for the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs, which achieved 97% online registration for senior citizens to improve access to benefits.

Healthcare improvements were another focus, with expanded facilities, free services, and a strong vaccination campaign. Plans include better health services and affordable care for needy residents.

He also highlighted the Magna Carta for Social Workers, providing them with hazard pay and allowances, as well as praised efforts of VAWC to address sexual abuse in the city.

One of the central themes of the address was disaster preparedness. Mayor Malapitan highlighted the city's continuous efforts to bolster disaster risk reduction and emergency management. With the help of modern technology, better infrastructure, and enhanced emergency protocols, the city is said to be more prepared to face any disaster.

Infrastructure projects were a key point, including road widening, drainage improvements, and new health centers and public markets. In education, the mayor celebrated free school supplies, scholarships, and plans for more classrooms and teacher training.

Mayor Malapitan concluded his SOCA by pledging to make Caloocan a more progressive, inclusive, and resilient city, emphasizing the strength of its people as key to the city's success.

LOOK | The UCC College of Law Student Council, UCC - COL Bar Operations Command Center, and UCC College of Law Debate Council successfully held a coordination meeting with various undergraduate organizations at UCC.

The meeting aimed to establish partnerships and foster collaboration among these organizations in preparation for the upcoming Send Off and Salubong events for the barristers.

The Student Council, Bar Operations Command Center, and the Debate Council of the UCC College of Law have successfully held a coordination meeting with various UCC undergraduate organizations. The purpose was to forge partnerships and foster collaboration among these undergraduate student organizations in preparation for the upcoming Send Off and Salubong events for our barristers.

Graduation Day!

Graduates and parents help a graduate as she would march on the stage on a wheelchair. There’s a graduate who marched the stage while carrying a photo of his mom in a frame as she recently passed away. A student proudly and energetically made the “dab” movement at the center of the stage upon receiving his diploma. Different tales ensued each march on the stage. And as their names were called, as they walk on the stage, the line has officially marked that they already have finished and graduated for college as they will now walk to another path to continue their journeys.
