Returned by Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. in the House Quad Committee hearing on December 12 the statement of "a senator who is the former director general of the Philippine National Police (PNP)."

Although Abante did not directly name him, many believe that he is referring to Sen. Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa who is accused of being the executor of extrajudicial killings (EJKs) during the height of Duterte's 'war on drugs'.

It can be recalled that in July 2019, Bato gave a controversial statement about the death of a three-year-old in an anti-drug operations in the bloody war against drugs of the Duterte administration.

Bato immediately retracted his statement and said: "I will recall my word. Instead of 'sh*t happens' let us change it to 'unfortunate incident' (happens)" but in October he repeated what he said in a Senate hearing on extrajudicial killings (EJKs) in the said drug war."

S**t happens. That's what happened, the child was hit, and died. Really for me, s**t happens. It happened. The operation was not perfect, you cannot control the environment, a child was hit," paliwanag ni Bato.

"There's no perfect operation. Sometimes s**t happens, that's what I said, but that does not mean to degrade the soul, the departed soul of that child," dagdag nito.

Zambales 1st District Rep. said. Jefferson 'Jay' Khonghun that the Marcos government is in full force in the pursuit of those behind those who manipulate the price of the country's main commodities, especially rice where the poor are directly affected."

It is necessary to consider that price manipulation is a heinous crime because we really have many countrymen, especially the poor who are affected," said Khonghun in the press conference held at the Chamber this Monday, December 16.

Khonghun assured the full support of the House to Speaker Martin Romualdez in his decision to establish a Mega Task Force to arrest those behind the price manipulation.

The House Quinta Committee recently summoned the country's 10 top rice importers to a hearing to explain why the price of rice is not decreasing despite the reduction of tariffs on imported products and the government's provision of various supports to rice farmers.
