I am Geraldine AΓ±asco Balignot-Pito, 29 years old and married with two sons. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Development Communication at Central Mindanao University - Class of 2015. My first work experience was at Robinsons Supermarket where I was a Cashier and also as a Customer Service Representative, I was also trained as a Cashiering Supervisor Operations. I learned to multi-task fr

om that job and handle different types of customers. Next, was I became an Information Officer of Highland Fresh Dairy Products; a Dairy Milk Company where I was designated to update the company's website, design brochures/tarpaulins/signages and other marketing materials, and also events planning. Currently, I am teaching (part-time) as an ESL Teacher to Chinese learners since April 2021. Today, I desire to broaden my freelancing journey by becoming a Virtual Assistant. The Top 8 Soft Skills Every VA Needs To Develop

1. Honesty and Integrity
If you make a mistake, admit it and take responsibility for it. Then go ahead and fix it. Be open and honest about your skills. Say so if you don't know how to do something. Make it clear to your clients that you're eager to learn. Take responsibility for your actions. If you're going to miss a deadline, be upfront about it. Keep your job and how you represent the VA industry honest.

2. Communication
It's the most critical soft skill to develop as a Virtual Assistant. It's difficult to meet your clients' deadlines and expectations if you can't communicate properly, especially when we're all virtual.

3. Teamwork
You must be able to work effectively with others if you want to be a successful entrepreneur.

4. Problem Solving
You need to be okay when it comes to dealing with unexpected issues or problems – it’s going to happen. Problems and issues are just part of life and business.

5. Flexibility
Technology and business both change. Change is an inevitable element of life; you must welcome it or at the very least be willing to bend. You are more likely to be open to learning new things and moving forward if you have this skill.

Start by making a list of everything you've ever done. Include your present and previous paid jobs, volunteer work, school, college degrees and certificates, and personal experiences.

It's a good idea to consider this from the perspective of your life's timeline. What events in your life have formed you into the person you are now? Try to recall some of the instances in your personal or professional life when you go back and say, "I really enjoyed doing that" or "I truly miss that part of my job," and try to pinpoint what it was or is.

Now it's time to turn that list of abilities and experiences into services for your virtual assistant business. Consider adding Social Media Manager to your service list if you assisted with the management of a non-social profit's media account.

What is one of your skills that is the least generic? You can make anything your specialty, but I wouldn't advocate choosing common services like email management or calendar management because they are general chores for which you won't be able to charge a higher fee. βœ”πŸ’ͺπŸ‘©β€πŸ’»πŸ‘πŸ‘
