Ms. COEd crowns as 3rd Runner-Up in UMeet '23

In a thrilling display of talent, creativity, and unity, the College of Education’s bet for Ms. U-Meet 2023 secured the third-place position in this year’s highly anticipated Mr. and Ms. University Meet.

The pageant was filled with the brightest stars of the university, with 19 female and 18 male candidates coming from the different colleges and campuses of NEUST. The pageant was held at DAGRMH, General Tinio Campus last October 23, 2023.

The selection process started right after the candidates proudly showed off their jersey attire in a grand production number. Afterwards, the candidates walked in their sports attire showcasing their physique and toned bodies.

This year, the College of Education took center stage with a dazzling performance that truly impressed both the crowd and the board of judges. The college’s representatives, Mr. James Ralf Ortiz (BSIE 4B) and Ms. Jennilyn Sta. Cruz (BSNED 2B), proudly raised the COEd Blazers’ flag during the first day of the week-long commencement.

Mr. Ortiz, a male candidate, stole the stage as he walked the stage in a Karate-do-inspired outfit. Unfortunately, Mr. Ortiz failed to enter this year’s lineup. On the contrary, Ms. Sta. Cruz, a female candidate, successfully ended her journey as the Ms. University Meet 3rd Runner-Up showcasing her beauty and grace in her “motor-girl” inspired outfit. Aside from being crowned as the 3rd Runner-Up, Ms. Sta. Cruz also bagged two minor awards, which are Miss Smart Communications and Miss Congeniality. Mr. Ortiz and Ms. Sta. Cruz were guided by their faculty coaches namely Luijim Jose, PhD, Lodyvina Angeles, PhD, Jermil Angel, MA and Loreen Agulan, PhD while their student coaches, Ms. Pham Cristal Pallanan and Mr. Symon Sta. Romana.

These accomplishments of the college’s candidates serve as an inspiration for all to continue striving for excellence in both education and creative expression. Indeed, keep the fire of excellence burning.
